The anime goes significantly down hill in the middle of Enies Lobby, removing the endings got rid of a lot of the soul of the series. It starts becoming really bad in Marineford, padding out the episodes and censoring the gore of the manga. It becomes unwatchable at Fishman island, definitely drop the anime here and pick up the manga.
