that show was okay but holy shit that's an absurd statement. It's such a derivative show and while competent, nothing about it really feels all that honest or even tonally consistent. It's like the show is not comfortable with being too weird, so it arbitrarily decides when its time to have that really "weird" scene

did it get better? I watched the first 4? episodes and was unimpressed, felt like it was trying way too hard to be absurd and surreal without much to actually say and what it does is not exactly novel outside of tv. peak midwit core it seemed to me.

absolutely not. The first 2 episodes were the best and if your critique is it trying too hard, it only gets worse, much worse. The first couple of eps were subtle by comparison.
It's the quintessential "weird for weird sake" show. If you take a break from this show and go watch something that is genuinely weird but earnestly weird like a Lynch movie or whatever, you realize just how hard this show is trying, how fake it all is. It's way too polished, way too self aware, way too cutesy.

I don't think it's a bad show, but its an irritating show because its so full of itself.

The last few RLM episodes have been so weird lately, like they all really hate eachother but are forcing themselves to be there for sake of not ending the channel. I guess the rumors are true?
