Dune is a terrible franchise.
The biggest meme is the baron

the biggest meme is the phoneposting redditzoomers pretending its a good movie
its a good movie
>>already forgotten
Like dust in the wind.
>its a good movie
its a speedboat
He's unironically correct here
White people movies don't make money, as they say go white, your movie's a shite
this but ironically
With that logic, every movie is forgotten 6 months after release.
Easy to say when you know nothing about it.
the simpsons still get threads
lotrs still gets threads
drive still gets threads
steven seagalstill gets threads
stalker still gets threads
black panther still gets threads
It was kino.
Disagree?

And yet you are speaking on said thread.

dont mind if i do
I am the OP midwit
>"subscribe to Bricktsar"
>Denis fans always accuse people that aren't enthralled by him of being idiots
Truly, Denis simps are the Ricky and Morty fans of cinema.
Honestly never seen a stalker thread and I no life this place.
Timothy Chalamet is a spineless faggot. I will never watch this movie, purely because of him.
I LOVE CGI WE NEED TO CGI EVERYTHING DONT EVER MAKE CLOTHES OR COSTUMES OR PROPS JUST MAKE IT ALL USING A COMPUTER IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER
Which makes you even more mentally disabled as your simple action of making a thread goes against your "no one is talking about it".
wouldve looked better if they had done that rather than the thrift store abominations they came up with
easy there armchair psychologist
That's fine to say in regards to the audio visual experience, but the narrative presented in the movie is antithetical to the "big screen experience". This should have been a streaming series. The film ends with the hero killing a literal who, he doesnt get the girl, he doesnt get revenge and he doesnt even have a clear path to either of those things. Its enormously anti climactic. Theres not that awestruck feeling of leaving the cinema, you just leave wishing you could stream the next episode.
This ends with you having a broken nose from grinding against the coccyx of her bony "ass"
Everything in the movie was so uncreative or simply incompetent. Like how in the books the Shield Wall is actually a mountain chain - Arrrakeen is protected from the open desert by a huge geographical feature. In the shitty movie it's a tiny man-made wall. Sort of ruins the spectacle of Paul opening a hole in a mountain chain by his atomics.
I honestly wish I had gotten to see it in theatres for the music alone. That probably had to be absolutely superb on imax
>for the music alone

Maybe it's just me, but most movies in the last 10 years haven't really been memorable to me. I'm not even that old (1994 baby), but compared to stuff like No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, or even comedies like Wedding Crashers or Step Brothers, I just don't feel that contemporary films garner enough to remember like stuff from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's.
You can chalk it up to sentimentality, but there's definite a lot of craft and effort put in pre-2010's films (and even TV series) that still stay with us. I grew up watching reruns of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as well as Homicide: Life on the Streets since they were airing before I could appreciate them. But the writing quality still holds up. Production didn't talk down to audiences and actually had us draw our own conclusions to a situation or dilemma.
I mean shit, I think Willow or Ladyhawke are way better than the nu Dune film. The 80's one wasn't that good, but there's a certain charm it has for its time.
No one has ever said that.
just compare the unremarkable 80s movie soundtrack with that garbage they shovelled into dunc
youtu.be
it was just a different time
Villenueve sucks. No talent.
> pots and pans with enya screeching and chanting
Makes sense. Fremen is basically Islamic/Arab in nature and culture. You think they would have classical orchestral music as a way to relate to Fremen?
James Horner was a great composer. Willow may not have been an original or compelling script, but it has such a feel-good nature of a small dude trying to save a baby whose being hunted down by a psycho witch and Val Kilmer being hammy as fuck.
You know what I genuinely miss in movies and shows? Earnestness. Being an upbeat or positive mindset is sneered and derided nowadays. Sometimes that's what watching a movie is all about: putting yourself into a different mindset where you can let go of reality and imagine something you aspire to.
your movie sucks and so does your brain
What a fucking hack
If you can't enjoy a movie on your iphone then it wasn't good to begin with
Your words mean nothing to me coming from someone with no taste.
Kek poorfag
>someone with no taste
its you, you watched pic related and thought "yes this is good, i like this"
Yes, because a movie doesnt consist of one screenshot.
>ends with the hero killing a literal who
And earning the Fremen's respect, tying into the prophecy of him becoming their leader.
>he doesnt get the girl
He's already knows she's gonna be his main squeeze because he's been dreaming about her for months before the story started.
>he doesnt get revenge
It wouldn't make any sense for him to be able to go back and kill anyone since he's in an incredibly difficult position.
>he doesnt even have a clear path to either of those things
Motherfucker, he made contact with the Fremen, something his dad was planning on doing already due to the immense value of having a bunch of sand people on your side. Paul knows too that his name will be associated with a holy war and he will be treated as a prophet. He also has the aspirations to lay claim to the throne, even if the messenger got killed along the way.
>3 hour long incomplete story
>tribute to the big screen experience
yes of course
Dune's a big big book. Needs big big movies.
>one screenshot.
good thing i have several dozen shitty screenshots from that garbage film
Is this the first Command and Conquer?
Judging a film by 2 still shots in a 3 hour film. Get this tranny a job as a movie critic. Clearly knows what to prioritize. Stfu.
what did this esl mean by these sentence fragments?
user, I hate the movie as much as the anyone else but the Ornithopter had a kino design. One of the few things I wanted to see more of.
>I hate the movie as much as the anyone else
ESL phoneposter chimes in
What is wrong with that? Seems like a practicle design for a place that regularly gets covered in dust. And yes, even with the wall there shit gets covered in dust so it seems pointless to have decorations outside.
It's not even bad, it's just not that special. People saying its the next LOTR don't realize that LOTR is far more outsider friendly then Dune
>shieldwall keeps the sand out
>sand on everything
????
I will freely admit im phoneposting. I only use this site when I take a shit. Seems like a worthy match in heaven considering I'm speaking to you.
Shieldwall keeps the sandstorms out. Minute dust particles still covers everything. You never lived in a desert?
I agree that you can't really make a toy line out of the new Dune or have people cosplay as the characters easily and stuff. Maybe that'll make the series more appealing as they age.
>I will freely admit im phoneposting.
GOTTEM
another duncposter defeated in brain to brain combat
OP here, dune is not memorable
granted I have not watched the movie at all, but I don't see anyone here spamming a particular scene or character ad nauseaum
the board was obsessed with it pre-release but the hype and talk just fizzled out into nothingness
the mobie is empty, there is nothing to discuss, shitpost, ponder, think, correlate, assume, presume, question or conclude about it
>GOTTEM
What? That my time talking to you is only equal to my time taking a dump?
You got me good, man.
This FEELS like it came out 5 years ago. Like it feels so old and forgotten already. Is this the same feeling that people had for Avatar?
Dune actually had a few RTS instalments of its own, complete with live action cut scenes and low poly CGI. I remain convinced Dennis intended this show to be an homage to Dune2000.
>Is this the same feeling that people had for Avatar?
avatar at least looked kind of like a black light painting so you had some stoners watching it while using drugs
dunc has literally no appeal to anyone with an iq over 90
You got a memory problem OP?
I'm just waiting for the sequel.
The main character knowing that he'll get pussy and probably lead an army in the next movie isnt "big screen experience". The ending was anticlimactic.
It's not climactic at all, I agree. It ends with him walking off with the Fremen knowing that he's taking the first steps towards becoming their spiritual leader.
Right, but like I wonder if it had this strange feeling of everyone being hyped for it, it coming out, and then just completely culturally forgotten within a couple months.
>I'm just waiting for the sequel.
here ill save you the wait, just stare at this for 3 hours
>Judges Dune based on autistic people and bots not regurgitating it and constantly shitting out bad threads.
Nigger, what?
it was fake hype, paid advertising, and it goes away the minute the funding does
Guess it turned out to be a ho-hum piece of snorecore.
>STOP LIKING THIS MOVIE I SPENT MONTHS AND MONTHS SCREAMING ABOUT IT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I watched Yea Forums stuff just by how much Yea Forums has discussed about it and I was never dissapointed
I don't care about the pre-release hype, if I don't see it in the collective shitpost memory then the movie is trash and not worth it, just like DUNC
and then you'll say something about marvell next go on you know you 'want' to
Now that the dust has settled, Lynch’s Dune was better
It’s just more memorable, colorful and feels like an actual movie not a broadway production
Thats modern movies innit
In the theatre it all sound bombastic then I go home listen to the ost and it’s shite braps
Just watch the movie if you want to formulate an opinion on it. And then tell the good niggers on here your opinion on the movie board.
>read book one
>really likes it
>read book two
>pisses me off
Is the third one worth it?
>it's another armchair critic contrarian thread
you bitches claim everything you don't like has 0 hype, it's the new buzzword for you faggots
i'll see you bitches when DUNC 2 releases
>Wojak3.png
another phoneposter weighs in with his sub-chimp IQ
it was oddly monotonous. It felt like nothing important happens even when it's meant to be important
