I dont find it "silly" exactly. While it does have lots of fun & silly moments the show itself is just so dark most of the time. I feel like people expect it to be a standard sci-fi show but its really just a story about a man going insane to the backdrop of a space opera. Sort of like an Alice in Wonderland except its Queen of Hearts rapes the man character & the Cheshire Cat is a half lizard man in a gimp suit

Crichton was the objectively weaker character in all regards, even according to the actual TV show's lore, including his schizo ark.
It eventually just gets old and uninteresting.
Mitchel's no bullshit soldier persona coupled with the adorable hero worship/fangirling for the original SG1 team stays entertaining to watch throughout.
