What was so strange about the commercial is that usually, when you saw a commercial for an artist's album the commercial literally was either just clips of various music videos for songs from the album with a voice-over promotion, or some other big-budget thing that really hyped up the artist and album
This commercial was literally just a bunch of random people sitting around and talking about how they liked Prince's album. That's it. The whole thing just seemed so infomercial-ish and cheap. You wouldn't have expected it for a guy who was one of the biggest music icons of the 80s and early 90s
