This. There's nothing wrong with doing stuff like your character to look like you're genuinely practiced at it, and I think more actors should.
It's fucking stupid watching someone on screen handle a gun like it's a toy, or a sword, or act in court proceedings, or any number of routine shit their characters do. But if I'm being fucking honest, if we compare the track record to "method actor" movies and uppity cunts like JLaw who refuse to endure the makeup session required for Mystique, I'd bet the method actors win every time.
