Why didn't he double, nay, quadruple the resources?

Why didn't he double, nay, quadruple the resources?

because they would be consumed increasingly faster and the situation would just be worse
sterilizing half of all creatures or something would have been a quieter genocide

he just can't

Why did nobody tell him about the infinite multiverse filled with infinite amounts of universes with an infinite amount of resources?

Why didn't he just exponentially increase the available resources?

Because this would lead to a population boom. Space/land is a finite resource that he couldn’t actually increase or it would break the universe.

His solution was still a temporary measure, just one that would slow down the regression.

Why didn’t he just not be part of capeshit for children?

>Why didn't he double, nay, quadruple the resources?
It would have only hastened the birth of the Celestials.

wasn't he a Celestial? why didn't he fear them? did half of celestials snap away?

only eat what you can find and grow yourself broooo, live in mud huts broooo its like equilibrium and the essence of nature brooooo its like entropy broooo

why not change "natural rights"?

Because it was never about ressources, it was about hammering his ideology.
Have you seen him sit down with anyone to discuss another potentially viable option? No, because he doesn't give a shit.
They should have kept his comics motive instead of going another evens more retarded way.

Why not just make everyone just barely sterile to approximate the replacement rate based on species?
As a bonus in order to ensure the survival of the species you'd be obligated to mating press your multiple wives every day as much as possible.

Because the extra resources would just got in the hands of the 1%. And instead of distributing it evenly, people got erased. And that is a preferable option before communism.

why didnt he double the 1%?

>Kills 50% of all living.
>Most of them count as resources.

Why not make the universe 4 times smaller to make space for 4 times more resources?

>quadruple the resources
>sterilize 67% of the people
Problem solved

This nigga fucks

Thanos did nothing wrong, there is too many humans

Yeah we basically did that with Africa and look what happened

>I can't feed my kids
>here's some food
>my kids can't feed their kids
>here's more food
>my grandkids can't feed their kids
>repeat until you realize genocide is the way

Well you see, in the source material, Thanos was a simp for Death. He wanted to kill people because he had no motivation of his own, other than servicing a femoid.
The basedboys at Marvel Studios, being too stupid to form their own narrative, aped the first part of this, but not the other. The reason being of course, that characters aren't allowed in a relationship that isn't trans gay non binary pansexual (and cut for Chinese audiences)

Destroying is way easier than creating, and the MCU stones aren't god-tier infinite power like they are in the comics. Also presumably he just wanted to prove that his plan would work, since he blames the destruction of Titan on the planet's unwillingness to go along with it.

Out of all the things to legitimately criticize these movies for, I still don't understand why people have a problem with this one.

What are these magical resources anyway? Some species eat other species as their resources. Multiplying them would fuck over a lot of other species. Ecosystems aren't something you can manage just by adding/deducting numbers

The profits would decrease logarithmically, with infinite halving he could barely reach 200%

Why doesn't he shrinks EVERYONE to Mr Ant or Captain Ant(or whatever he is called) size?
If the problem is that space/land is finite and he can't do more of that, the problem is then the scale of our mass.
If you shrink everyone, you will make everyone build smaller cities, and smaller ships to travel.
Not even accounting that it'll take 100 more times for any given planet to be "filled" too

>hulk.. tiny

Because those in power would rather commit genocide than even consider the end of capitalism

Reminder that Jeff Bezos could feed and shelter the entire planet tomorrow if he wanted, he just chooses not to

Tiny compared to what?
If everyone is tiny, hulk will still be massive

Actually, he should have reduced the sperm count and their analogs across all living creatures to maintenance level. Then he wouldn't have had to double any resource, destroy any lives or sterilize anyone. It would probably have been an easy accomplishment for a magic glove that can turn half the life forms in the universe into ash.

Because the movies butchered his plotline and made it nonsensical
He was supposed to do it for Death, the actual physical female incarnation of death

This

Would be easier to spread anime and porn throughout the Universe, then the population problem fixes itself. Amiright?

Because they wanted to push Agenda 21 and the killer vaccines and the Great Reset

>He's beta-orbiting the abstract entity of Entropy, because it manifests as a skeleton (female) in a cloak occasionally.
>This makes much better sense.

Because breast milk is a resource and that would’ve caused wildly unpredictable events to occur

It avoids dumb threads like this
Why does he do a stupid thing like killing half the universe?
Because it's a gift to Death, he gives her half the universe as a gift
It actually makes sense now

Thanos is scary because environmentalists exist IRL and they too want to make your life worse

>It avoids dumb threads like this
No it doesn't it sidesteps movie discussion to whine about comicbook nerd lore shit. If you can't or don't want to discuss the movie then don't participate.

>space is finite
I don’t think you understand how the universe works

why didn't he just remove all pollution from the universe?

Then why not erase the 1% so they stop hoarding the extra resources?

I'm saying that if the retarded filmmakers avoided changing shit for no reason we wouldn't be arguing about them changing shit for no reason
The only reason this happened is because the people in charge of a movie adaptation think they're such fucking great writers that they do this kind of crap
There is no other reason
Thanos killed 50% of the population because he was offering them to Death, then the writers changed the reasoning to some bullshit about balance that didn't make any sense, and here we are discussing how it doesn't make any sense

All this tells me is you are too lazy or dumb to discuss how it was portrayed in the movie and shows so you want to force everyone to talk about the comic book version which is completely different. Like I disagree with OP but I can still debate it.

>It actually makes sense now
how?
Is he killing immortal beings? His "gift" was already going to happen anyway wtf
It's like everything is a car race and death is just chilling at the finishing line watching the race, and thanos comes in pushing half the cars "Look look I made them cross the line faster!"

Living things at all scales act like germs in a petri dish. They breed to maximum allowance of their environment, so with less food the population will naturally cap at a lower level. If you just keep throwing resources at them they will continue to fill the petri dish and consume all the food and starve to death eventually. If you take it upon yourself to guide the universe in the way that Thanos did, you have to acknowledge the long long long run i.e. 10 billion years in the future when people forgot about Thanos 9.9 billion years ago and everyone's starving again. Give a fish vs teach to fish.

I would unironically use any excuse to commit genocide my self desu

It's incredible how much money has been wasted to babysit a continent of people who can't take care of themselves. FFS, it's worthy of celebration if they conduct an election that isn't riddled with massive fraud, jailing opponents, or outright violence.

>Thanos killed 50% of the population because he was offering them to Death
And why do you think that's NOT a retarded reason?

Falcon and Winter Soldier showed that what he did had a positive influence on the world. Turns out he was right.

but people are already voluntarily not having kids at replacement rate, we're already going extinct naturally

Yeah pretty much
Thanos was just in love with Death
It was shit
There is no reasoning outside of that
His actions make zero sense outside of context and the movies removed the context
It's that simple
Of course it's retarded, but it makes sense
It has internal consistency
Imagine a guy buying a whole fucking garden of flowers for a girl he likes
Then you rewrite the story by removing the girl, so the guy buys a garden of flowers for no reason at all
It's not retarded, it's just completely surreal, and has absolutely no reasoning behind it anymore

>bro, like, Malthus or somethin'
Wow, such discussion. Its a children's movie, grow up.

>His actions make zero sense outside of context and the movies removed the context
They removed the comic book reason and replaced it with a different reason. Other anons are discussing it. You just can't seem to cope well with that. Maybe is more your speed.

The comic motive of simp Thanos wanting to kill half the universe to impress his crush Death somehow makes more sense than whatever the fuck they were doing in the movie

Spoiled rich, white women cause all the problems. "Oh those people aren't eating what I eat, they must be poor we need to send em food". Starvation problems aren't about food, they are about overpopulation & starvation is nature's way of fixing the balance

How would ending capitalism help?
Let's say you have all the money in the world, all of it, every penny.
Then what bro? How are you going to get these good to other places? How are you even going to convince people to make goods to begin with?
What's an actual viable plan besides enslaving people to work?

go the Brave New World route, they aren't slaves, they're happy to do it! You can recruit downies, autists, etc. who will be happy to do the menial work for free

Some places are still breeding like rabbits, it depends on the daily life of the average person and their comfort level. Post scarcity is looking pretty scary tho.

And it's the most absolutely retarded reason imaginable
It's completely, 100% crazy Joker-tier madness
Let's look at Earth
You kill 4 billion people out of 8 billion
You have now decimated entire countries, collapsed the global economy, destroyed supply lines and basically caused an apocalypse
Now as we return to the stone age we realize that oxygen will run out because it's produced by bacteria and trees, which are halved, as they are living things, so oxygen will eventually run out
And then we realize death was a mercy because half of our crops and half the animals we eat are fucking dust now, those are living beings as well so half of them are dead
This is why the only proper reason is the comic reason
Because the movies took an action, Thanos killing half the universe, removed what caused the action, him doing it for Death, and made up an absolutely batshit insane one in its place
You can't reason on this crap, it's impossible because any argument is flawed at the very root cause

I'd think about all niggers, Jews, Muslims and trannies, then snap.
