Capeshit has nearly ruined cinema

A generation of funko pop collecting soi milennials with patchy soi beards and braindead zoomers with attention span disorders have been content to watch one capeshit after another without questioning it.

Superhero films made for children became loved by manchildren. Dorky capeshit films with no cleverness to them make ungodly amounts of money. Worst of all is that since capeshit is where the money is now, creativity and originality in Hollywood is nearly dead.

Fuck capeshit, fuck the directors making capeshit, fuck the actors stooping low enough to do capeshit. And if you like capeshit, fuck you and your wife's boyfriend too.

Kind of shows how bad it has gotten when Morbius is classed as a huge box office success, even though it looked awful and has been trashed by most people online

How's Metropolis coming along, Francis?

I just dont understand why people havent gotten tired of it yet, capeshit is the equivalent of westerns in the 60s and that ended but capeshit just seems to go on and on even though it looses money.

Some of the best films of all times are westerns. There's zero comic book films in any kino connoiseur's Top 1000

Don’t talk shit about westerns ever again. Instead we got liberal horseshit and the French new wave. It wasn’t until the 80s when filmmaking recovered.

This too shall pass

I get the feeling that it's mostly Mexicans and Indians enjoying capeshit. As the world gets browner and dumber capeshit will only increase in popularity.

People say that the dark knight and other super hero films are some of the best too

*redditors

Superhero movies are just the latest dumb trend in movies, I remember the stupid teen raunch movie era, the dumb muscleman action era, endless slasher sequel era...

I get that you ladies have built your entire persona around being dismissive and critical of the broadly popular and trendy. Your unhappiness at growing up (and doing it badly) makes you long for the stupid movies that entertained you as a carefree child. But no one with a normal brain chemistry is impressed with your churlishness towards Current Popular Genre.

All those other eras were much better than capeshit. We'll return to Twilight if that's what it takes to get rid of this shit.

Just stop watching them. If it wasn't capeshit it'd be something else retarded, they'd be making 10 Transformers films a year or whatever.

Attached: olqLkAK.jpg (645x773, 109.54K)

The problem is that when capeshit is the only thing that makes money, good films flop because of capeshit. So capeshit ruined it for other directors. Not watching capeshit isn't enough, every capeshitter needs to die first.

The problem is that capeshit is favored over actual cinema

>endless slasher sequel era
>bad

No they fucking were not. They were full of mindless shit movies with a few worthy films that are reminded fondly.
>We'll return to Twilight
And to affect the films Hollywood is making, you'd actually have to start buying tickets to movies, and you're hanging with the wrong crowd for that let me tell you.

I will not stand in the way of your genocide. I just feel better having freed myself of them after seeing The Avengers in 2012.
I distinctly remember walking down the street from the cinema and thinking, yep I'm never gonna do that again. Some of the SFX on the ship HUDs were cool but apart from that it was somehow completely devoid of content.

actual cinema hasn't been favored since the 70s
the taste of amerimutts just gets worse and worse

>good films flop because of capeshit.
Auteur films for autists like yourself flop because it never occurs to you to actually PAY to watch them, you are too "sophisticated" now to actually show up an pay Robert to watch them.
Hollywood only cares about who fills the seats, they don't give a shit about your clever heckling.

I don't even know what auteur means I just fucking hate capeshit

>good films flop because of capeshit
lmao cope

Gonna side with them, they were. It's important to note the effect of capital on the film industry during the 80s and 90s.
It was an expanding market but the ceilings of profitability and budgets were not obvious. So we got ludicrous amounts of cash thrown into random films in attempts to make profit.

When you get to a film like Waterworld, that was ahem, the high water mark.

After that the algorithms got dialled in. Belts were tightened during the filesharing era and CGI drastically shaped big budget films. Now the industry is fully streamlined, from their ass to the funko-pop collectors gullet. There is too much money on the line for artistic gambles, all rough edges have been smoothed out or are driven by hollywood big name directors with balls to swing around.

> capeshit is the equivalent of westerns in the 60s
Westerns from the 60s celebrated American nationalism, family values, and good morals. Most of them managed to do this while still having a story where the bad guy gets beat, and the good guys inspired men who were in a bad spot to get their shit together and stop the bad guys.

The truth is that before the "Summer Blockbuster" of the late 70's, everything did pretty meh box office. Every genre just did "okay", so nothing was particularly favored.

I'm oldfag enough to remember Star Wars original theatrical run (I was 8), and all the derivative schlock sci-fi that was pushed into theaters thereafter.
Cape movies are the big deal right now because the CGI to make them feasible has become widespread and reasonably priced; it was always SFX that limited their growth.
They have always been a popular genre of storytelling, on radio and television and magazines.

There's a reason the tag-line for Superman the Movie was "You will believe a man can fly".

It's the truth faggot

Thats exactly what capeshit is doing lol

And a movie needs to do well at le box office for it to be good, right pleb?

Name 5 capeshit films from the last 15 years that celebrated:
> American nationalism
> family values
> good morals
All three of those attributes.

>When you get to a film like Waterworld, that was ahem, the high water mark.
Waterworld was an attempt to cash-in on the "Post-Apocalyptica" genre, which had a brief run of popularity after the Road Warrior stuff.

It wasn't even Costner's only run at it.

>And a movie needs to do well at le box office for it to be good, right pleb?
It's an industry, chuckle-head. Any business needs to turn a profit to stay alive. So yes, "a movie needs to do well at the box office".

We are waiting for that mysterious Someone Else to do all the good stuff. That's the problem

No it doesnt, lots of actually good movies dont turn a profit

What is even a film that "celebrates American nationalism"? Military porn like Top Gun?

Spiderman, deala with power and responsebility

Ironman, american entrepreneur protecting smerica and american values

Batman, same thing

Westerns celebrated American expansionism, the taming of the wilderness by explorers and pioneers, bringing law to the lawless by stopping outlaws, and so on.

The "we" that is Yea Forums has decided not to pay to see movies, and stupidly thinks that's going to have an effect on green-lighting.
The thought seems to be that howling on a dark corner of the internets is going to haunt the sleep of Producers.

You didn't really name films, just 3 IPs, but that was funny enough to remind me that all three of those characters appeared in 2008 and then were never the same again.

You have to really go back before the Spaghetti Western became the popular face of Westerns for that, and it's not even really "Nationalism" in a large chunk of them the "Bad Guys" are fellow American capitalist railroad-men, cattle barons and the like.

Movies and television pay for themselves these days. They don't need an audience, don't need to be profitable, and can make all of their money back from investors. See: Blackrock's ESG score system.

The recent ironman is only a few years old, theres a new batman movie if you havent noticed,

So what the concepts are th same

>with attention span disorders
Most capeshit kinos go for like 3 hours though.

The current Streaming Wars are unsustainable long-term. It's a massively expensive attempt to beat down and absorb rivals to position yourself for eyeballs and the ad revenue that comes with it. You can already see all of them pivoting back to ads.

> You have to really go back before the Spaghetti Western became the popular face of Westerns for that
Good point. Back in the day there used to be a divide among boomers and early Gen X over westerns like those featuring John Wayne and spaghetti westerns that were "skeptical" of those themes. Wayne's presence was still big in the late 60s and arguably some of his most popular westerns debuted during that time.

>The recent ironman is only a few years old
> 2013
off by almost 10 years fren

Maybe, if we are talking about Hollywood. For some reason rarely anyone is making those zero budget cult achievements like Tetsuo although it has never been easier to make this sort of stuff. These movies rarely made good money to their creators so piracy can't be the reason for the death of cult cinema and other more artistic and experimental type of shit

That's not what he's saying. But movies that don't do well at the box won't be made as often.

Yeah but they concist mostly of fast action and jokes but no substance

It'll be interesting to see the fight over production rights as streaming apps fight over what debuts on which platform. As far as productions that are greenlit though, the Bruce Willis debacle showed that productions more often than not are almost entirely funded by investment groups that can make all of their money back seemingly instantly. Before long more of these companies will just be another face of Blackrock and not have to worry about money as long as they meet their ESG score.

But even then they weren't what I would call "Pro American Nationalism" as outside of "Indian Threat" stories, the antagonists were largely Greedy American Capitalists.

We can't stop winning #Morbmob

This right here is why I don't like her. That, and they are cramming her down our throats.

>since capeshit is where the money is now
>creativity and originality in Hollywood is nearly dead.
>implying
OP is a faggot, as always.

Dismissing capeshit on a whole is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I mean Nolan’s Dark knight trilogy and gems like Joker and Dredd are total timeless kino.

Shit like Smallville and the the endless degree of throwaway marvel movies are however terrible. Even worse now that most of it is lib propaganda

Blackrock is just another example of "people will throw their money behind X, so more X gets made/done". ESG is big with them now because it's big with their individual investors.

I feel like I'm repeating myself, but the lines at the theaters still largely determine what gets made the next year, and so on.

I'm not including Nolan's Batman in this for obvious reasons (it's kino)

> the antagonists were largely Greedy American Capitalists.
That's almost entirely spaghetti westerns. When a Wayne western did a story like that, Wayne was usually helping out the honorable family or was the honorable American family protecting his town and family name.

>Even worse now that most of it is lib propaganda
Joker is FAR more "lib propaganda" than the Captain America or Iron Man films. And the Nolan Trilogy is epically dumb storytelling from your childhood.

Name 5 non-capeshit films from the last 15 years that do.

Westerns are gay

Now neo noir is pure kino

Yes. It got stale around the twelve sequel of Friday the 13th or should I say knifeshit

>I mean Nolan’s Dark knight trilogy
>I'm not including Nolan's Batman in this for obvious reasons (it's kino)
This goes back to my original post in this thread, which is basically that you've all grown up (terribly) and just want to suck your thumbs and watch what you enjoyed as a kid.

> the lines at the theaters still largely determine what gets made the next year, and so on.
For the most part yet. The streaming services are what they want to move to for the most part which is why they disguise most of their filth as fancy exclusive shows like what's seen in Euphoria debuting on HBO Max. While things are still locked down in capeshit, they have to operate within that genre for now, see: Peacemaker.

No I want capeshit to die that's all

Streaming is more an attempt to kill Cable Television, the studios still aren't happy to abandon the outdated theater experience.

Well, you wanted to get laid too, and we know how that turned out.

Based and truthpilled

I'm engaged, try something else

Now that you mention it, it's funny how it seems like no one is happy with the current situation.

> theater jews aren't happy having their businesses deemed outdated
> cable jews aren't happy having their businesses deemed outmoded
> streaming app jews aren't happy having to fight over the competition, streaming exclusivity, hoping cable and theater dies soon
