i've been thinking of doing this with dog food for years.

I would be careful since a lot of dog and cat food is made in China from animal parts considered unfit for human consumption.

the idea came to me when buying some particularly good dry dog food which was from scandianavia, organic chicken etc etc.
the ingredients seemed better than most supermarket food.

If you want to make homemade sauce use the Alton Brown red sauce from "pantry raid" instead of bottled sauce.
