Nietzsche peaked with Wagner.

Joyce, the king of Yea Forums and a classically trained guitarist, disliked Wagner.

I think you mean Mozart, Wagner wasn't even the best of his contemporaries.

Mozart wasn't even the best of his contemporaries user.

Wagner on the other hand was the single most influential figure in the latter half of the 19th century and as of yet the current "highest pursuit" in art.

>*dislikes Wagner*

Peaked with Beethoven, Wagner was just the last one among the greats

>*copies Nietzsche*

If you new anything about music or literature, or art on a whole you would see that is the opposite. I agree both Wagner and Beethoven neither fell into systematic production but emotional development, Wagner however was the latter and last half of that.

Just ask Hitler bro. Do you think there is a single piece by Beethoven as emotionally complex as this autistic poster's video?

>Mozart wasn't even the best of his contemporaries user.
Please user you make me chuckle

>Wagner on the other hand was the single most influential figure in the latter half of the 19th century and as of yet the current "highest pursuit" in art.
Nah he only mastered opera, no string quartet, worthy symphony e.t.c and his opera on that note do not show as much excellence of pure music of say Brahms or some of the Russian composers at the time.

Hehheheh

Peaked with Bach, J.S. All else afterwards is just your typical hard sell of the philosophy behind why the music exists (and they all still go back to the Bach to be schooled!). Wagner's just the biggest asshole of his era to "redefine" music before the Second Viennese School and all else that we call music today.

>Wagner on the other hand was the single most influential figure in the latter half of the 19th century and as of yet the current "highest pursuit" in art.
Wagner wasn't even a musician.

Hey Ulysses

Bach sounds more like a mathematician than a musician. The fugue is decadent as a compositional technique.
Mozart was a better composer.

Well, considering and ignoring your apparent blindness, what do you say when Brahms himself considered Wagner a genius above himself? Liszt too, along with Verdi.

>inb4 muh war of the romantiks

And I'm about to repeak it with my acid techno album once I finish

You're both wrong, it is true Bach was more analytical than virtually every musician in history but his genius is expressed through this in him being of such an analytical or rational nature. Astoundingly no one has trumped him- in what he does, but in the history of music it has proceeded with the likes of names you hear often.

>Wagner wasn't even a musician.
Let me guess, because he was a genius in more arts than one? Yeah, expected.

>wagner
only notable works are opera, tried to write for piano and miserably failed
>mozart
not only did he write more and better operas than wagner (Don Giovanni), he also wrote the greatest symphonies, piano concerti, and *other* concerti, and also is probably second in the string quartet and piano sonata behind beethoven.
Haydn considered Mozart the greatest composer
Beethoven considered Mozart the greatest composer
Rossini considered Mozart the greatest composer
Schubert considered Mozart the greatest composer
Brahms considered Mozart the greatest composer
Tchaikovsky considered Mozart the greatest composer
Grieg considered Mozart the greatest composer
Richard Strauss considered Mozart the greatest composer
Ravel considered Mozart the greatest composer
Many others besides considered him at the top with Bach and/or Beethoven
