Why is is that the oriental cultures that were fetishized by Guenon and others are the one that bow the most to capitalism ?

Japan has produced then zen culture, yet they now have 60 hours work weeks

china boyo

It was the West poisonous influence. Read East and West.

white man imperialism

Guenon wasn't a fetishist. He was a genuine scholar of the orient.

if you read guenon you would know that he despised japan

guenon didnt like japan

>China bowed to capitalism
You mean China got fucking obliterated until there was nothing left but a void that capitalism could then fill.

Joke's on them, Mohammad was a trader!

He didn't give a shit about Japan.

As for China/India/The Islamic world, he had no fetish since he he had a genuine understanding of those cultures through mastering their languages, reading their litterature and living among them.

And of those, only China has fully embraced capitalism.

>Guenon wasn't a fetishist. He was a
genuine scholar of the orient.
>genuine scholar of the orient
>the orient
No he wasn't. He was a larping orientalist like all the rest. Read some Said

guenon is the same as evola with the difference that evola got at least an official aknowledgment from the pali society of london for his translation and commentary of the triptaka. evola was also read and highly appreciated by authors such as gottfried benn, unlike guenon, whose writings were popular just amon the esoteric fauna in need for some "intellectual" stupefaction.

You can't understand a culture if you're not part of that culture's shared evolution, that is, its ethnic background. The unconcious collective that permeates the brain structures of the asian people can never be comprehended by a frenchman. He could never truly understand Buddhism or Chinese culture.

Fuck you and fuck Said. Fucking americans and their worship of him. Legitimately kys. Said ruined scholarly discussion.

coomaraswamy and nasr seemed to have no objections to how he presented islamic and hindu doctrine in his works.

I believe the opposite. A good analysis of something requires to be external to that thing to have sufficient hindsight.

So what? They don't bother now when modern Guenon's fuck around in Goa telling everyone
>yeah, so like I totally study at this ashram yeah, it's really like spiritual, not like us Westerners yeah

For example, no American could have written something as insightful on America's democracy as a French aristocrat like Tocqueville did.

That is called critique, not understanding.

edward said is pure trash. he just exploits the common need for a political (nominal) equality and assumes a priori that any difference between the east and the west is a a mere construct of tha ebil colonializz. which is obviously an irrational, obtuse claim.

Guénon couldn't care less about exterior manifestations of primordial truth, aka "culture". It just so happens that in our manifested reality, the eastern world held the last traditional civilizations. Also he disliked Japan.

>You can't understand a culture if you're not part of that culture's shared evolution
Only from the bottom up. A true inquiry into the nature of things would be from the top down, from the doctrinal elements, metaphysical truth down to its exterior, material manifestation (Literally the opposite of empiricism). And since this kind of knowledge is supra-human, it is completely normal for someone of higher intelectual horizon to understand each and every culture, since they are all derived from the same principles and would appear to each individualities seeking these truths as similar, whether or not they are christian, muslim or buddhist.

Ramana Maharshi praised Guenon's writings
