mira is dogshit. however, her style of expression ("sad neurotic girl posting ironic shit from her bed while eating doritos") has become to massively popular over the past decade that she must count as one of the most influential writers of our time (if she indeed pioneered said style and didn't merely latch onto it; research is tricky and i haven't done any)

for all the attention she has received mira has otherwise offered up very little. one extremely slim poetry paperback and a shared volume of collected tweets (of course). whereas other twitter posters of the early and mid-'00s have parlayed their increasing interactions to bigger things (sosadtoday AKA melissa broder is a novelist now, for example), mira seems content with smoking weed and posting about smoking weed. perhaps she has a corker of a book in the pipeline, but i doubt it

meanwhile, the internet is a cruel place and no imagined feminist sisterhood will rescue her from irrelevancy. in posting circles, she's well on her way to boomerdom. in a few years, anyone can crack her twitter greatest hits and cringe lovingly at the contents, much like we do with the quaint vernacular of pre-financial crash internet today

She's aging really REALLY badly. If you go to her Instagram, she's stopped posting normal pics of herself for over a year now because she's gotten frumpier and frumpier. She also hides her face in every pic, like this: Even the pictures being posted here are years old now. It's amazing how quickly a woman goes bad.
