What level of consciousness do you think animals have?
You know when you see birds pottering about, they're jerking their heads all over the place, like they're some weird little wind up robot. What's the bird thinking? Does it even think, does it just live entirely in the present? Grass. Grass. Grass. Branch. Grass. Branch. WORM. Grass. Grass. Branch. It almost seems like a video game NPC with rudimentary a.i. behaviour. Squirrels stare at me sometimes even if I stay completely still for 20 minutes, they can smell me or somehow sense I'm an animal. Birds very rarely do that. I know it varies but it'd be interesting to know what a bird thinks, what a dog thinks, what a dolphin thinks. Just how advanced are they? What's the most advanced thought a non human has ever had?
I don't know about that, parrots and crows can do complex problem solving. Also pidgeons are not as scared of humans for some reason.

>Also pidgeons are not as scared of humans for some reason. Because they live alongside them mostly and have lost their natural fear of humans.
Ethan Davis
Crows and their close relatives are apparently smart as fuck, to the point that they can use tools, figure out how human traffic works and use cars to open nuts, and recognize specific humans enough to not only hold long-term grudges against specific people but even communicate those grudges to other crows that have never seen the people
Zachary Myers
No idea, but I am fairly certain it is more than most give them credit for. Most people just have so little experience with animals outside of the human environment.
Mason Barnes
I've seen personality traits on the dogs of my friends. It's pretty amazing to watch honestly.
Brandon Allen
I'm pretty sure most of their communication lacks meaning. To them their sounds are just like a man yelling "mush!" or something like that, I think.

The common pigeon is essentially domesticated, it is not so much that it is used to people, but that people have raised and bred them for centuries. The other pigeons are quite skittish around people.

>What level of consciousness do you think animals have? all animals are different
This. I bet the average crow or even pigeon is smarter than most people on lit. youtu.be/OOjXaAZHEQE

Is consciousness even something you can be advanced in? Dolphins and some apes are self-aware to some extent. I think most animals think like humans, but without any abstract thinking.
Look into John C. Lilly's books on dolphin intelligence. I haven't read them, but I bet they are interesting and along the lines of what you are looking for.
I think there was actually a fairly advanced civilization of dinosaurs before the comet wiped them out. Birds are one of the smartest animals and they were probably one of the dumbest dinosaurs because they didn't need to be that smart since they could fly.
I had a dream about this strange dinosaur civilization once and i just accepted it as fact like i normally do with my dreams.
Jack Thompson
I think we should set up a lab of some sort and begin testing the problem-solving skills of various animals while making the problems equal in complexity to certain math or logic problems.
Chase Cooper
It's obvious to anyone who knows dogs that they have very different preferences and personalities. Old and tired doggos tend to be kinda samey though.
Kevin Flores
nah, dino hands were way too small.
Josiah Cooper
"levels" of consciousness betray an anthropic bias. there are no levels, it's like asking what level a composer is on relative to an athlete. each is suited to themselves
Asher Ortiz
Poor birb
Jace Sullivan
I think most of the larger mammals are more conscious than we are.
What level of consciousness do you think humans have?
You know when you see people pottering about, they're jerking off to porn on the internet like some weird little wind up robot. What's the person thinking? Does it even think, does it just live entirely in the present? Penis. Penis. Penis. Sex. Penis. Vagina. COOM. Penis. Penis. Vagina. It almost seems like a video game NPC with rudimentary a.i. behaviour. Women stare at me sometimes even if I stay completely still for 20 minutes. I know it varies but it'd be interesting to know what a woman thinks, what a man thinks, what a child thinks. Just how advanced are they? What's the most advanced thought a human has ever had?

Based and avenged pilled.

this video gets me so hard hhnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggg bros

>Old and tired doggos tend to be kinda samey though. So do old people
Below humans and above plants, on a continuum within themselves which can be guessed at and scientifically investigated by humans. This thread would have been better posted on /sci/.

>but I bet they are interesting and along the lines of what you are looking for. I've read them, and they certainty are.
