Darth Plagueis and the first bane book are both good, as are Daley's Han Solo adventures and splinter of the minds eye

Forget it, read Richard Blade. A true manly English specimen: part Tarzan, Part Conan, part James Bond. A different fucking dimension and planet in every book, and he lands naked and ready to rumble.

I like the newer books, written by Chuck Wendig. Those books are fun, and tie-in with the sensibilities of the new movies very well.
