I mean sure if you want to make money there's a handful of degrees worth it, but everything else is a huge waste of money. If you studied any of the humanities you're a fucking drooling idiot. You could've saved yourself thousands and gone to a fucking library. Bunch of slack jawed pseuds who care more about appearing to be knowledgeable and intelligent than actually being knowledgeable and intelligent.
you're gonna miss out on life experiences, networking, and institutional education, if you're gonna skip university, you fucking deranged cheap American
Oliver Gray
Because it's such a huge waste of money and 99% of people who go there are only doing it because "it's what you're supposed to do". It's just an incredibly bizarre situation. If you're not seriously interested in something, don't waste your time and money going to university. "I'll discover what I like when I get there!" No you won't, that literally never happens.
>you're gonna miss out on life experiences, networking, and institutional education, if you're gonna skip university Y-YOU'RE GONNA MISS OUT! This is why you'll be a slave your whole life. I didn't miss out on shit all, I did what I wanted to do with my life and saved myself shit tons of money. """Networking""" is for real degress, not meme ones like English or Classics. University offers nothing you can't find in a book, your professors are morons.
Ryder Lopez
Yeah, but you're not doing it, so why do you care?
Logan Ross
University is free in my country :D
Blake Price
Why do you care that I care?
Oliver Collins
I asked you first.
Connor Evans
So what?
Nathan Lewis
It's the polite thing to do.
Jeremiah Powell
Only in anglo countries you have to borrow tens of thousands to a bank in order to do a useless degree you know. Don't project your vampiric system onto the rest of the world, Dylan. And although I agree that philosophy or sociology bachelors are useless in themselves, there might be a deeper socio-economic reason for the fact that a massive amount of young people try to get college degrees (ironically in an institution where the education was first designed for something else than becoming a wagie). Other than "Kevin is a stupid idealistic tool for choosing anthropology as a major", of course. Maybe if you went to college, you might have understood that
Ryder Foster
I'm not polite
Juan Mitchell
some people want to make a living with what they like to study.
Leo Adams
>there might be a deeper socio-economic reason for the fact that a massive amount of young people try to get college degrees ( Yes there is.
Back in the day only the rich could afford to send their kids to school. Then the industrial revolution happened a few decades later the middle class was born. Now there were 100 times as many kids going to university and something that was once prestigious and valuable has today become the bare minimum for employment anywhere except McDonalds. It's BECAUSE so many of you simpletons with empty heads go to University that your degree ends up being not worth the paper its printed on.
Cameron Brooks
None of the humanities will get you a job
Alexander Ortiz
You seem to be at the moment.
Lucas Parker
Self-assurance. OP must be successful.
Aiden Baker
even a fellowship at a university? >t. neet
Jordan Green
For every staff position at university there's 1000 other useless wankers with degrees vying for a spot. Are you top of the wanker pile? I doubt it...
Noah Nelson
isn't that why one should get a phd?
Asher Morris
If even simpletons get a degree, what are you then?
Camden Ward
Again, there's 1000 other useless wankers with phd's competing for one job
I'm better than you.
I didn't go to University because there wasn't anything I cared enough about to want to study it, I didn't care about being rich either. I didn't care that all my friends were going and I'd be the odd one out. I didn't care that my teachers were trying to guilt trip me into going because I had "potential". I didn't care that it was "what you're supposed to do". I did what I wanted because I'm not a fucking bitch who gets buffeted around in life by the expectations of others.
I spent the last 10 years doing what I wanted to do and I don't regret a single day of it.
Hunter Lee
Yet you are insecure enough to feel then need to brag about your life choices on Yea Forums while impersonating some kind of self-righteous proletarian. >I'm better than you So that's the goal here
David Jones
>I'm better than you. >I spent the last 10 years doing what I wanted to do and I don't regret a single day of it.
maybe what he wanted was exactly what he did too? i for example didn't go to uni in order to "get a job", i was just fascinated by my field and thus i chose it. no reason to be this mad if you were really so satisfied about your own choices as you said.
Jace Jones
>Yet you are insecure enough to feel then need to brag about your life choices You started this, simpleton. >So that's the goal here No, just a fact.
>maybe what he wanted was exactly what he did too? I sincerely doubt it.
Jackson Parker
>You started this, simpleton. I started the thread? I've yet to find anything here that wasn't a set-up for your narcissistic wankery. But I believe in you, even if your 'friends, have gone to university you are just as intelligent and successful as them, or dare I say much more so!
Dominic Cook
Not everyone has to pay for university. That’s probably why I was able to do it in the first place.
Jaxson Evans
>waste of money Picture this : we’re not all americans. Never had to ruin myself to become a lawyer.
Daniel Watson
cannot believe how many people actually fell for this.
Jeremiah Price
So you started out with a slightly correct beggining of explanation but then automatically slipped to "they do it because they are stupid". Why, Dylan, why? When did a sociology degree had any value in the corporate world ? Do you really think the idea that a lot of people make bad life choices is groundbreaking, or at least deserve a thread ?
Austin Mitchell
>fell for this You mean the opinion of most burger youth ? What a stretch.
Cooper Reed
no I mean this dumbass bait thread retard
Liam Rodriguez
>It's a bait thread dood! Got you good maan! Still doesn't make it any less pathetic
Hunter Wilson
I don't get it what was your counterargument
Dominic Sanchez
Just picked up my bachelor's diploma and stuff, since I dropped out of masters. At least I looted 6 months of scholarship, kek. Uni is a total waste of time, it's a cesspool of miserable people who are not qualified enough to do something worthwhile in real world, so they usually abuse their position of power in the uni. On top of that you have tons of normies who don't care about anything but partying and don't study anything ever.
Mason Gutierrez
Why do you care about other people's life decisions that are purely monetary? Why does it perturb you that people made a choice, and failed? Or does it piss you off that people exist who studied what they love and found a job they liked afterwards, and not conformed to your image of a failure? Does it piss you off that people researched their meme degree, and got it anyway? Guess what, these meme degrees are pretty useful for the right people. Philosophy is great for the line of work I want to get in, and it's made me much better at talking to people and articulating with them. I'm already in the hiring process for what I want, and I plan on continuing my education after I get in. That's why bugmen from other countries fill into engineering and comp sci. They have zero interest or aptitude, and they can only think in terms of checklists, so they go where the money says. >I did what I wanted to do with my life and saved myself shit tons of money. And we don't care, because the only reason you even bring it up is to brag to anonymous fags on a Manchurian cartoon porno forum. Not everyone wants what you want. You don't need to justify your mundane life choices to strangers by deriding theirs. > """Networking""" is for real degress, not meme ones like English or Classics. University offers nothing you can't find in a book, your professors are morons. Sure thing, shit head. I can only guess what herculean truths you've mustered from all this self-induced reading you've done. Get this: you can also teach yourself Calculus, advanced math, physics, and engineering. It's possible. You can combine free courses online with cheap books, and do textbook lookups for college courses and just read them yourself. But how many people do this? Why do they need to pay for a degree, too? Because that's not the way most humans are wired to learn. Professors give you context and feedback, and build your rapport in whatever subject they're teaching.
Colton Cruz
Complaining about people going to university is the biggest cope for people who didn't go to university
I always see the biggest copers listing off the same criticisms >IT COSTS MONEY >U CAN JUST GO 2 LIBARY >ITS LIBERAL AND STUFF You need a degree for most things in life. Deal with it bitch
Andrew Wright
>I didn't go to University because there wasn't anything I cared enough about to want to study it, I didn't care about being rich either. I didn't care that all my friends were going and I'd be the odd one out. I didn't care that my teachers were trying to guilt trip me into going because I had "potential". This is why other people are important and you're not
>I spent the last 10 years doing what I wanted to do and I don't regret a single day of it. lmao how fucking old are you? this is pathetic
>You need a degree for most things in life. Nothing that actually matters though
Grayson Diaz
That picture is peak cringe, is that you?
Camden Flores
You go to University to get credentials and show that you can work in a standardized environment and be around others for at least a few hours a day. Community college then online-school is probably the cheapest and best bang for your buck, unless you plan on staying planted like I did in which case potential employers may like you better if you grew up in similar area and went to the same schools.
Lucas Young
I got a job offer straight out of college in EE for $75k + $10k signing at a government job, so I can't get fired :^)
John Ramirez
I went to university and did not pay a single dime. Stupid Americans and their for-profit model can go fuck themselves.
Joshua Morales
I went for six years on taxpayer dime. No I did not graduate and even if I did it was a philosophy degree for maximum uselessness. :^)
Jason Jones
Yes, being a lawyer/architect/engineer does not really matter. What really matters is reading Ellul and Guenon while masturbating at the same time.
Anthony Richardson
If this post was heartfelt then it would be the most based post in the history of African war-crimes appreciation forums
Elijah Baker
>Yes, being a lawyer/architect/engineer does not really matter No, it really doesn't.
Jacob Allen
Since I went to work for the local government's internal services department I'm going to see if I can get my loans forgiven.
Lucas Gonzalez
University was great. I got drunk every day, played rugby, and fucked loads of girls. Still got a 2.2 lol
Lincoln Edwards
>This is why other people are important and you're not dime-a-dozen fake intellects are not of import. Anybody of real import is isolating themselves from this vanity and perversion. Who would want to be seen as a product of corruption other than the sick? Fake education, fake prestige, fake system, pumped by fake money. Commercial production sold to the masses like kardashian cuntery.
Carson Morris
how do you determine what matters?
Blake Mitchell
If you were dying right now you wouldn't give a fuck about whether you were an engineer
Thomas Carter
if you were dying right you wouldn't give a fuck about whether you were anything.
Jackson Sullivan
Precisely.
Austin Myers
which is why it is a retarded thought to consider everything as nothing since you aren't dying all the time.
Brody Morris
>since you aren't dying all the time pfffffttt, look at this fucking retard over here >which is why it is a retarded thought to consider everything as nothing Try it, it's very freeing
Jonathan Taylor
ever notice how NEETs' ultimate stance is always soggy nihilism
Brandon Anderson
Sounds like sour grapes user, but I agreee that people shouldnt just jump into it if they dont know what they actually want out of it just because they feel obligated to go. I didnt go and have an okayish job and im surrounded by college grads loaded with debt. Its a shite situation and honestly many jobs dont need that much higher education as they try and convince you
