Is this Marxist propaganda...

Is this Marxist propaganda? There's a lot about how lower classes were treated unfairly after the Dark Age and how evil the upper class were
Example:
>In the seventh century all the economic groups below the tightly closed circle of self‐
styled agathoi had reason to resent their power and arrogance. The families at the
bottom of the economic ladder, both the dependent oikoi and those on the
>brink of impoverishment and debt, had the most reasons for hating the rich. They
were not only struggling to make ends meet, they also had to endure the stigma (or
the threat) of working for others, a condition Greeks equated with loss of freedom,
that is, slavery. The sloganʺredistribution of the landʺbecame the rallying cry of the
have‐nots throughout Greece in the Archaic period.
Is it right or biased?

NO GO BACK TO FUCKING /POL/ YOU FUCKING RETARDS THERE IS NOT A FUCKING MARXIST CONSPIRACY BURIED IN EVERY BOOK YOU'RE WORSE THAN A COLLEGE PROFESSOR

Hey I'm reading this for my course on greek city states too

Caesar was a proto-Marxist, he even was on good terms with Jews.

No that's really what it was like, that's why the Athenian got Solon to write his laws.
At that point people were taking high interest debt with their own person or children as the collateral. When they couldn't repay it they were sold as slaves.

Historians since social and cultural "turns" in have been concerned with "history from below" in one form or another. The Annales school was already doing it in the '20s and '30s, Marxists and other socialists or "progressives" were already doing social science in this vein as far back as Jaures, Michelet, and of course Marx and Engels. In the post-WW2 era, both Marxists and non-Marxist academic historians largely turned toward history from below, with an interest in structural and social-scientific methods, "thick" descriptions of cultures and everyday life drawn from anthropological methods, and so on.

Most practicing historians these days were reared during this generation and this outlook is more or less still dominant in the academy. "Event-based history," "great man" history, and the "history of ideas" are much less common. Most historians implicitly or explicitly apply social-scientific methods and mainly arguments about social structures, and most operate within the "school of suspicion" (Marx, Freud, Nietzsche) that broadly studies ideology as at least a partial determinant of social and material conditions.

So it's only propaganda insofar as the whole academy is more or less pushing propaganda, because they all participate in watered-down versions of outlooks of which Marx can meaningfully be called a leading father.

this, Caesar protected Jews who helped him destroy the Republic.

>Talking about history in terms of economics
That's how you know.

God, Yea Forums is shit now. Why do zoomers act like boomers now, misconstruing everything as commie propaganda?

t.commie
The "revolution" was a massacre

Case in point.

Acknowledging historical inequities/conflicts =/= Marxist propaganda. Learn to think.

>Sarah Pomeroy
Dropped.

Protip from a fellow classicist: only trust the late 19th century germans, approach post ww2 literature with extreme caution, and don't bother reading anything written past the 60s.

Only good posts in this thread.

truly basedpilled

everything was kill after the third reich fell

Quality post.

GET YOURSELF ON POL - All art and culture since WW2 is inextricable from the reality that Jews have sound analytical abilities but are utterly devoid of any sort of creativity.

Why do you think we get the plagiarist Einstein as the archetype of the twentieth century genius? Why no Tesla?

Why modern art? Why critical theory?

After capturing - completely and absolutely - the financial system they're trying to reform the culture to be their own too.

This is all OP needs to read. The rest of the replies are dogshit. Good work user.

are you a gender studies major?

yeah, but the question is whats the fucking alternative to this trash?

see

i mean the alternative textbook on greek history, i'm well aware of the jew.

Apologies user.

This user proposes we jump back to a time to much earlier German works Personally I think we need to start again, from scratch. I like to think of this generation a the prophets and the next generation as the heroes of a new, usury free, European world.

I'm learning Latin so that my sons might be fluent in it.

Because commie propaganda is everywhere.

no, i think we're the heroes. there have been many prophets since the 19th century, only now are large quantities of people actually realizing what they were saying.if we don't take the reins now, i hardly think a later generation would have a better chance. will we be great artists, philosophers, writers, or architects? probably not, but we're the ones who are supposed to create the society in which such people could arise. round 2 is coming

Did it ever occur to you that, instead of zoomers falling for a ruse, you had missed something fundamental?

Perhaps you're right. Thoughts on how it'll kick off? I rack my brains over this daily.

thanks, just copped the same, or at least a similar edition on ebay.

I'd rather not base my beliefs on paranoia. I urge you and the others to read about McCarthyism.

it'll kick off whenever and however we decide to kick it off, simple as that.

>Caesar was a proto-Marxist

literal nonsense. all populism doesn't equate to marxism, much less socialism.

heheheh wait until you find out he was right.

Here's a meme for you. Behind this is fact.

Whether you're able to disengage your ego enough to look into this is up to you, but the reality of this becoming widely known will hit you one day.

What book would you recommend on greek history? I can only find cucked ones

Dr. Michael Hudson just published a very important book about Ancient debt forgiveness. What is particularly interesting is that in Near Eastern ancient societies (e.g. Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Babylonian) debts were regularly cancelled so the landed aristocracy could not amass enough wealth to challenge the monarch, while in Greco-Roman societies, there was intense political strife over whether debts should be periodically forgiven, with the creditors usually getting their way.
