This painting (pic related) is one of my favorite works of art. What I like about it is, above all else, the way the Madonna is subtly eroticized, the way in which one of the great symbols of purity in the Christian Church inspires in the observer something more akin to desire than tenderness. Even the figure of the baby Jesus is somewhat obliterated, and what really catches the eye is the beautiful face of the girl and her bare breast. The work is more of a song honoring the beauty and fertility of young women than a hymn to motherhood and Christian virgin birth. It is as if a baby were given to a mermaid for her to hold and she did not quite know what to do with it.
I would like to know what kind of poetry, prose, dialogue, satire, ode, hymn, description, etc. you would be able to produce with this painting that I love so much as a theme.
A geisha girl, powdered with dust from crushed pearls, in full bloom of her reproductive juices- somuch that she seems to be silently dripping mating-heat and musk from the pores - is used as a model for painting of the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus. The white lily of purity is transmuted into a carnivorous orchid drenched with the sweet juices of a ripe plum.
While the painter paints the girl all he can think about is in fucking her in all sorts of ways and to ejaculate deep inside her pussy. The girl feels that the painter devours her with his eyes (his desire makes the corneas gleam like the foam in the mouth of a hungry dog) and, with provocative shyness, lowers her gaze, at the same time avoiding and inviting.
