To be honest, 1 had a certain charm to it that the rest of the series could never match.

1 = 4 > 2 = 5 > 3 > 6 = 7

6 > 7 > 4 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 5
Objectively

Is HP just Rick Riordan plus TA Barron?

I've not read Rick is why I ask.

Also is the original HP really those Narnia books?

"No!" > "Yes!"

perpetrator of 9/11 = Mossad

The first three > the rest

I marathoned all movies the other day
For the entire next day I was stuck in a haze and thought I was a wizard
Freaky shit

5 and 6 has Rowling getting used to her editors giving her freedom to do the fuck she wants, to the point she throws plot out of the window to focus on character growth. Of course there's plot, but just because there's some major stuff she needs to get out of the way (some deaths, some comebacks, other betrayals), but for the most part these two feel like reading a Slice of Life of Hogwartz. And that's good because plot is not her fucking strong point. Although incapable of writing anything more than archetypes, she's good at directing her characters and to write at least an entertaining story with them, that's not horseshit like literally every hollywood author that came after her.

We can see that from book 3, which is the first actually good HP book. She's still confined to not breaking too much from the 200~300 pages maximum, but it's the first time we are getting some serious focus on character and, which she shows potential on.

4 is the first time she got the OK from her editor to write like mad, so of course, it's rough, but it's a nice development on the style she found on the third book.

7 is just disappointing. Plot makes a comeback, and it's both bad and boring, with Rowling making up stuff because she has no idea how to fucking finish this shit, characters already received all the development they needed with some few exceptions so there's no room for them among the adventures of the dynamic trio, the final battle is disappointing and the solution is taken up from an ass. It's shit, and only dumb fans can like it.

1 is trite children lit that would never have necome anything more than a roadside attraction if not for the movie and all the marketing. 2 is just extraneous and completely unnecessary.

7 should be squarely on the bottom of any list. I always liked her use of Chekhov's Gun in the first 6, things just happen because plot in the 7th, almost without exception.

P=NP

3 is the worst. It is so similar to the two before, it's like rereading those rather than a new book.

7 Is the finale, I like the way JK tells all these other stories in parallel (Dumbledore )
5 I love the character development of Harry in this one. AD forever
1 Call me a sentimental, I like it because it's the first one. Even though I've read it again lately, and I wasnt remembering correctly how much it was RUSHED compared to what comes next.
6 Is good I guess. I loved the subplots. The story of the prince is just awesome. But I didn't really like the easiness she used for some points (Room of Requirement for lost and found ... ), the way she handled Dumbledore and the Inferi ...
Then there is 2 and 3. I dont remember the second book, and the 3rd is just meh.
4th is the worst. I can't express it enough. I dont know why. Maybe 'caus I was, subconsciously, traumatizedby the portrayal of Harry in the movies (THAT HAIR CUT), or just the story in general : "A contest you say? So in order to make Harry teleport to the cemetery, you will be a teacher for a year, you'll needed him to win all the rounds, to be in the labyrinth and get to the portkey and ...", "yes yes master" " SAY NO MORE ! this is Genius "
*facepalm*

actually based and 100% true
only change might be dropping 7 to worst, i think it’s absolute garbage

never made it past that one a kid because it was so goddamn meandering and pointless.the fact that she abandoned plot isn't a bonus, it wasn't a postmodern turn for Rowling, it was literally her losing the plot and spinning in place for a whole book. never read 6 and 7 because even at that age I could already tell the series had gone to shit

I fucking hate Harry Potter so much. I just got home after a small house party where our host made us play Harry Potter trivia quiz and all the other guests agreed because they were vile bugmen. Even my girlfriend wanted to do that because she's read all those turgid books and watched the movies. Later on she got genuinely upset because I knew no answers besides the ones to 2-3 very simple questions. I knew that there was no point in reminding her that I'm only into literary fiction because I'd instantly get booed by those vulgar redditors.

This truly is the most horrid timeline.

I thought 6 was boring
Narnia is far superior to Harry Potter
The only real character growth I saw was in 5. They just get all gloomy and emo after that.
I really liked 4 because I saw that as a huge transition, throwing in more personality to the characters and foreshadowing the gloom of the later books. It also managed to have the most exciting plot of the series

5 is the absolute worst one tho.

>Narnia is better than HP
The later Narnia books are just a youtube comment section about atheism transformed into a childrens' book lmao. And that's not even mentioning the weird subplot in book 7 about universalism, Susan being sent to hell because she wears make-up, etc.

Give in to the zeitgeist, user. Lonely people are mentally ill.

It's not difficult to be better than harry potter

I was recently attending the birthday of my mother-in-law, and when the subject turned to books my brother-in-law made a passionate case that Harry Potter was extremely well written and was certainly not just a children's book since it contained complicated and adult themes such as war.
He's a nice guy but at that moment I couldn't help but feel utter contempt.

That being said, 4>3>2=1>>>.
The later books are a pathetic attempt at trying to appear "adult".

>people who read harry potter browse Yea Forums
