Throughout human history people have described beta males as the ones who lose interest in society because they have no stake because they don't pass on their genes.
Maybe pursuing a gf or other personal stuff isn't the way to get motivated? Using a gf or interest in the stuff you can do with STEM, as a carrot on the stick to motivate you maybe doesn't bring out the best in you? Maybe like every animal there is, being a parent does that? I thought about it and imagined it and I was suddenly overwhelmed with a desire to improve myself so I could raise and protect that imaginary child.
What's the best for single male humans to have kids? Is it wrong to reproduce? Discuss this book guys
Honestly, I refuse to read any literature on the matter unless it's written by a woman.
Isaiah Stewart
No need to create another suffering being, we are all better off non-existent
A truly caring parent would abort the child for child's sake
Matthew Parker
Humans are a product of evolution. It's our purpose to reproduce. Morality is a system descended from the need to improve reproductive rates in cooperating groups.
Brandon Scott
If we, as a society really want to allow the use of reproductive technologies, they ought to be used towards the goal of eugenics as opposed to their current libertine dysgenic use. IE, totally banning abortion/birth control or leaving it entirely in the realm of state/corporate/church control. I don't see any moral reason why a woman's choice has any input in the matter, all that leads to is dumber, unhealthier babies and makes society worse off (not to mention the great evil of abortion)
Spooked by the suffering of life. What has to exist, will come into existence, and we cannot stop it.
Spooked by evolution. I don’t care what evolution says. I can do what I want.
Spooked by greater good for society. I don’t care what’s good for society. I have no intention of going out of my way to sacrifice my own desires for society.
Joseph Perry
I maintain that if you can't reasonably guarantee your child at least as tolerably good a life as your own or better, it is unethical to reproduce. If you are willing to subject your child to at least as much pain as you have endured, then it is justifiable.
If however you are unconfident that your child will have at least as good a life or better, it is unethical to reproduce.
Jack Nelson
What if I’m poorer and less capable than my father but have more empathy?
James Robinson
It's still unethical. You lack enough resources to ensure the survival of your kids. Poor people really shouldn't reproduce
Lincoln Thomas
I think I've got enough resources but the kid might live slightly poorer than it was got me because my dad's a CEO and I'm not.
