Damit bros I just want to get paid for my creativity...

I dunno man it's pretty intense at times, maybe it's because of my modern-day habits and less with how my brain is put together.
I'm also a smoker, started when I was 14, post-cigarette I'm pretty good for up to an hour.

I've never been to a doctor to talk about these things.

I started an Instagram for my poetry and decided to post a whole poem every day. It's a small following so far (70 after 4 weeks) but I just bought a little bit of promotion from an account that has 230k followers, so I'm hoping from that I'll get a few needed boosts to my channel. But through that I'm going to sell my compiled and polished poetry. Hiring a few artists on Fiver to get some illustrations to accompany the poetry, hiring designers to put it all through indesign, gonna put it on Amazon and will market the ever loving shit out of it thanks to the money I get from being a wagie.

To write enough to put a full passable poem per day requires waking up early almost every single day. I'm ahead by about 7 poems but that's mainly to carry me through times where I get put on call at work. I also sacrificed what little of my social life I had, and just deleted all of the dating apps on my phone so I am not distracted with swiping.

OP it's simple. To even do creative things at a decent pace requires shifting around priorities. If you actually desire to do creative things, you'll do them and you'll put the 'noncreative things' out of way so you don't have the 'occasion of sin' so to speak. You obviously desire to jerk it more than you desire to write. And that's without the whole 'making money' aspect, don't even ask stupid fucking questions like 'how do i get paid for my creativity' if you're obviously devoid of creativity, otherwise you'd create something.

Shithead.

I know this feeling. I can't focus on anything for more than 5 minutes. Even something like video games. My mind just never turns off.

Then just be born 100 years ago, niggy.

Well personally I feel lime where do I begin? As in I write and record music, I write comedy, essays, I want to make short(and then long docs) I'd love to animate simpler 5 to 10 min cartoons as a vehicle for my comedy.

The question is how do you monetize. The thing is so many people want to be know just for being known, which is fucking gross. It's OK when a kid in YouTube does it, but not an adult.

Plenty of basic creators are making a minimum wage thru Patreon alone. It's not ideal but god dammit can you imagine an extra $1000 a month just got doing your thing.

If you're great at a hobby like fixing electronics or growing orchids you could do that as well. People love to send 2 to $5 a month to a project they love.

IMHO the most important thing is the work. People turn away from rushed content. Think of your favorite podcast, my two true crime podcasts put out work that takes 30 hours for an episode or a number of drafts. There's a true crime list cast on YouTube that's just OK. But people flip out over how good it is even tho tons of people say the guy sounds like he is on sleeping pills. And yeah, it is dry. It's the same background music and some pics. But it's well written and not full of dead spaces. Audio wise... Heh.

So he's making about $600 a month from patreon, and it happened pretty fast. He'll have 1million subs in a year or two for sure.

PAY ATTENTION TO PUTTING OUT GOOD CONTENT , NOT SOME MAGIC FORMULA. yes you should copy good tips like search result optimization, good practices etc...

BUT IF YOU RUSH THINGS OUT JUST TO MAKE A BUCK ITS OBVIOUS. and the it will take time a solid, appreciative fan base will do a lot for you in terms of WORD OF MOUTH, THE BEST ENDORSEMENT YOU CAN HAVE... if you're not ready relax and take the time to develop something. Know the first bits won't be as good, again same example with those 2 great podcasts. But once you start and commit keep going. Nothing kills interest like stopping and starting again.. With the exception of porn of course.

I can't tell you the projects and shows I plan to do cause those are my little ideas. But the other stuff I said is universal.

Not entirely sure since i havent made any money yet but really just keep your head out there. Like others have said Instagram is a good place to start. Had a poetry page that acquired 450 followers within a few months and couldve grown wuickly had i stayed with it. I go out on Craigslist and things of the such looking for writing jobs. I need to get more out there. Remember we are in charge of our destiny op
