12 Rules for life

Just read 12 rules for life by Peterson, and since I can’t form my own opinions what do you people think?

Self help books are useless because you will forget their contents in 2 weeks so congrats you wasted your time.

This is not why self-help books are useless. Try again.

Because helping ourself is impossible there must be an external force that forces you to improve yourself.?

That’s retarded.

Becuse people don't apply the concepts they learn? Please tell me.

I hated the smiley faces he used >:(

Other than that, it was okay, I just think he sometimes went all over the place so it wasn't as coherent as it could have been :|

Not him but the concepts are bs because they are not the real reason why certain people succeed and others don't.

Found the useless one.

Exactly, look for "survivor bias".

He would have been a better English prof than Psych. His discussion of Biblical topics is more interesting than any of his advice on getting promotions or rearing children. His forays into philosophy are pretty shameful though, his argument against atheism is absurdly dodgy.

WHERE ARE THE CITATIONS

Peterson is a joke that went too far, his only true underlying message is "be a conservative, don't ask questions, pay your taxes and don't question any authority".

Why do you say that he doesn’t want people question authority? I believe his point is that hating any authority just because they are higher in the power hierarchy is wrong.

I've watched his 40 minute video on cultural marxism and he was all kooky and rambled about universities being infiltrated by SJW and whatnot. Some conspiracy theory stuff

I think is studies of the esoteric content within the biblical stories is more interesting than his generic "wash penis make bed" shit. There's genuine content in his jungian analysis of mythology and religion, but it gets overshadowed by his TUPSA and PragerU tier takes on politics which sucks.

Sjws and feminists are conspiracy theorists but you go along with it

I am reading the first chapter now and he is going on and on on lobsters.
I really hope this gets better

I thought it was shit, but I just skimmed it, so take that with a grain of salt.

Most self-help books are useless, but some change your perspective so radically that they can change your life. How to Win Friends and Influence People is honestly the most effective one I've ever read. I'm okay with social interaction, but it lays out how people react to different things that it literally turned social interaction into a strategy game when I need to. If a social interaction is going badly, it's literally like, look at them this way, say this thing, and watch them react in this way. It's insane.

cope

Peterson clearly is a submissive man. He "fights" LGBT and transgender crap, but supports Capitalism. Doesn't understand that Capitalism promotes gay culture and generates transgender under hormone therapy ($$$).

I barely made it through half of it since he's such a poor writer
