What does actual nihilism look like...

What does actual nihilism look like? I've heard Neitzche is wrongly described as a nihilist and the word is almost exclusively used as a negative, like calling someone a "badist"

Neitzche thought nihilism was the end of the world.

Those are some unfortunate teeth, ruins her look.

what does actual [any philosophy] look like? Most people don't live according to their philosophy.

There are different types of nihilism but all it means is that it negates any other philosophy. So most philosophy is people debating what gives life meaning, what it is to live a good life etc. Nihilism is the position that there is no meaning to these questions, to the concept of existential "meaning", that there is no such thing as morality on a philosophical level.

The term "nihilist" is often misused to mean a hedonist or somebody who goes against society. However, there is no behavioural consequent of nihilism, since it is only a negation of other philosophies, so no action could be in keeping with nihilism or contrary to nihilism. A nihilist could adhere to any set of tenets, since they have no reason not to, life being meaningless and there being no such thing as morality. Logically, they could be a conformist as much as they could be an iconoclast or deviant. A nihilist by definition could not believe that it is "wrong" to be a hypocrite or a liar, nor could they believe that it is "right" to live in accordance with one's belief. They must also necessarily believe that there is no superiority to truth over falsehood, so there is no meaning to their view of nihilism being true.

Except for the religious, very few people have a rigorous moral philosophy, they sort of make it up as they go along. Almost everybody is a hypocrite, or self-contradictory in their beliefs. So I would argue that most people behave as nihilists, they simply pretend to have a moral or ethical code because it is socially acceptable, or reduces cognitive dissonance. And typically, people will pick a system of philosophy that corresponds to their own pre-existing nature.

Nietzsche specifically argued against nihilism, although I think he was talking about the underground Russian political faction who called themselves nihilists in some of it.

Tolstoy's Confessions is about his belief and subsequent rejection of nihilism.

fuck off faggot, you have been posting stealth tyranny threads whole day. fucking cumbrains should be banned from everything and life too.

Opressing the people makes me horny

nihilism = the view that something has no value

for example

existential nihilism - the view that existence has no value
moral nihilism - the view that morality has no value or that moral judgements have no value

nihilism by itself without an adjective is very vague and is mostly used as an insult

It also seems that in practise nihilism correlates with depression, I'm not sure whether depression results in nihilistic thought patterns, or whether belief in nihilism provokes depression. Even with myself I'm not sure of the order it happened. But it's probably something of both. Anyway, there is no objective reason that nihilism would result in depression, you could just as easily formulate an argument that people should be happier given nihilism.

my depression doesn't really come from my existential nihilism. it comes from circumstances i can't control

in fact, i don't really a shit that there is no objective purpose to life. i would still be under the same circumstances i can't control even if believed life has an objective purpose. i would still be depressed.

i don't really give a shit*

that is really enlightening. Shout out to you my friend.

These men are cowards, Donnie.

How british are you?

It does look like a slightly below average girl though.

Even with the most expensive surgery, makeup, and great camera angles - they still look like dudes lmao

Neitzche predicted the decent of humanity into Nihilism from the destruction of cultural and religious identity.

But yeah actual nihilism is a life devoid of emotion and meaning. Like truly internalizing that there is no reason to do anything because in no time we will all be dead and nothing will matter. Therefore , a nihilist will be someone who preaches how nothingness should be internalized and everyone should be miserable because there is no reason not to be.

A friend of mine lives in a basement. He exclusively eats foods which he knows are not nutritious. He sees no need to go into public unless it is to acquire food or other necessary goods. He is bored most of the time. He gets vaguely interested in many fields and learns about a Wikipedia page's worth of information on them before losing interest in them entirely, professing that his curiosity is satisfied and that the meaningless nature of further examination renders it unnecessary. He believes that meaning is a human-invented concept, and he has no interest in human-invented concepts. He believes that nothing is objective, and that subjective information isn't worth considering. He cannot engage in intellectual conversations; he barks out nonsense in response to genuine philosophical topics, as he finds every discussion of the type completely absurd and not worth considering. He does not believe in the validity of logic. He is not impressed by anyone or anything. He thinks that physical capability of any level beyond wiping his own ass is primitive and idiotic. He sees women as sex objects and nothing else. He believes truly that he is better than everyone else, and that others should follow his example in order to live satisfying lives.

Nihilism is like anarchy, it doesn’t really exist

Scared people (usually christards) hate them because they’re unpredictable and unmoored.
They’re sometimes quite content, other times suicidal.
It’s kind of like being an agnostic. A temporary holding position. Make up your mind what to live for, what to believe in.

There ya go.

>tyranny
What are you talking about?
