I have a feeling that picking out and preparing something will seem incredibly artificial once you get into the trip itself. Whatever pretensions and ideas of what you would be and how you would act would be picked apart or simply be uninteresting.

First, your experiences aren't the same as everyone else's. Psychedelics are very subjective in their effects. Ego death in it's own right is a subjective experience. Second, most tabs out there, especially street tabs, are under dosed.

Some people do, but even with other methods, underdosing is common. The only way you can know if your tabs are properly dosed is by sending them to a lab.
