One of the most based books I've ever read. With all of the social alienation in today's society, we need a Tyler Durden for the modern angry young man.

The most enduring troll threads are always begun with the bluntest of bait. Bravo
great movie but I wouldn't waste my time reading the book
I almost took the bait on this one, but I knew I didn't want to give a Jordan Peterson watching edgyboi with a Fasc-ee haircut any more time today than I do just by being on Yea Forums
Not trolling but maybe I'm autistic? I am a newfag though, so please explain the hate for this book?
you must be 18 years old to post on this website.
Okay. Assuming you're not a troll. It's simple.
The people who most often "identify" with the book are those who completely misunderstand the books meaning. The radical leftist agenda of destroying capitalism is literally the books end. The main character is a broken shell of a man whose main traits are spreading toxic masculinity and repeating a phrase "First rule about fight club, is we don't talk about fight club" harkens back to the abusers and sexual predators who swear their victims to secrecy and then those victims perpetuate the damage to others and repeat the phrase.
The whole thing basically shits on the White Power culture of dude-bros with pomaded hair and tiki torches who fucking LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the book... Without realizing how ironic it is that they are the literal embodiment of the thing the book seeks to tear down.
they are just snobs.
Reading comprehension is hard, I know.
it's the least insightful gay lifestyle metaphore written by the most boring then-closeted homosexual.
Underage detected.
Good book though
But there is no Tyler Durden. Only Sebastian.
in perfect honesty have you ever actually met somebody like this irl? because this suddenly suspiciously strawmanish
PLEASE GOD GIVE ME BOOKS THAT TALK ABOUT VIOLENCE BEING NECESSARY FOR THE HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF A YOUNG MAN'S MIND
or anything relating to that
PLEASE
I don't lower myself to the level of dumb apes by engaging in fisticuffs! Violence is so icky! Preach brother!
yes
they're not hard to find
This is why he didn't want to come out, he knew it would cause everyone to see his work as gay literature when it's clearly not. It's about masculinity in crisis in the modern world and the futile search for meaning under capitalism. It's not some homoerrotic metaphor like every pseudointellectual will claim.
This guy thinks books are about one thing. It makes perfect sense for a white supremacists to like a book about masculinity in crisis, nihilism, and the destruction of debt because those things are likely relevant to them.
>implying men weren't evolved for combat and crave it on some innate level
make america innate again
yes
i was that kind of faggot for a long time
the memory is pure cringe, honestly
evolved for combat but seek to avoid it
are you stupid? even being alpha as fuck any actual combat bears at least 10% of fucking your shit up.
you seek to avoid it by making others see you as strong. that's what all of this macho bullshit is about.
your survival is mostly dependent on members of the group perceiving you as useful, that's why you also have an innate nature to help others.
american muchoism is as retarded, from and evo psych perpective, as leftie harmlessness.
unfortunately the one flaw with the story is that people beating each other up won't make them stronger, it'll cause compounding disability. but yeah it was fun, i enjoyed it.
>harkens back to the abusers and sexual predators who swear their victims to secrecy and then those victims perpetuate the damage to others and repeat the phrase.
so grown men engaging in consensual combat reminds you of sexual predators exploiting the weak ?
you're a plebe
Yes, we also listen to the Big 3 leftist podcasts, don't worry.
Just shut up.
Fight club (the movie) is mostly misunderstood.
It's about returning to the primitive tribe. It's about anarcho-communism. Not about fighting Capitalism, but abolishing it.
It is said explicitly in the movie.
The world i see - Tyler Durden.

said by a halucination. The message is the opposite of what you said.
Says who? Serious question
Say what?
An uninspiring masturbatory hackjob, written by a repellent fudge-packer
>uses multiple plot devices one being anticonsumerism
>assumes the whole book is an anti plot
The book was based on and written around the author's insomnia issues, it was using fiction to explore it as a tool to dick around his doctor. I know almost no one who is pro consumerism
Based. Watch idiots and newfags get angry over this simple and harmless explanation
Yeah no. The book is way too old for any of what you described to have been relevant in any way to the author. Your analysis is a blatant anachronism.
>its simple
because your own take on it is simple. blowing up the credit card companies doesnt mean 'destroying capitalism'.
>toxic masculinity
im not even anti-feminist but its kind of sad to see people maim themselves with pale caricatures of the world funneled into a one way view of sexuality as the only criteria.
>they are the literal embodiment of the thing the book seeks to tear down
reading books with the sole motivation of finding 'tearing down' narratives seems like projection on your part.
>sexual predators who swear their victims to secrecy
do you ever wonder if intellectual predators do the same thing?
>White Power culture of dude-bros with pomaded hair and tiki torches
the irony is you occupy the other side of this phantasm, making it stronger. the book talks a lot about market entities selling narratives and demographic control.

This thread is evidence Yea Forums is unable to perform the most basic analysis of a "pseud-tier" book. Awful job everyone.
i don't know if you're taking this personally or not but you are aware of the irl fight clubs that were inspired by the book, cause that's mainly the type of person we're talking about
>said by a halucination.
how does that give it any less credence?
