How does Yea Forums feel about him?

who?
"Verbrecher aus verlorener Ehre" was the first ever play I took in part in, so it will always have a special part in my heart.
That being said, he has contributed a lot to German Idealism. Also, he was a better poet than Goethe.
I don't
german should never be used to write poetry.
Moraltrompeter von Säckingen. He is the same kind of fucker as Goethe just minus the being an old lustling thingy. His Maid of Orleans is pisspoor and so is everything else. Romanticism vs Rationality alone don't make a good drama.
>Also, he was a better poet than Goethe.
His early poems are my favorites and indeed on par, if not better, than many of Goethe's poems. What about Faust though? What about Hermann and Dorothea? In allen Wipfeln spürest du kaum einen Hauch.
>german should never be used to write poetry.
Dont be mean.

Damn i wish that i knew German..
Im looking into reading him, from what i know, generally looked at as Goethe side-bitch, or the other German poet.
I would say Goethe and Schiller are on par, with the difference being that Schiller is much more rigorous in his poetry.
Heine is the cutest of them all though.
what do we do about the nrx twitter problem?
>he was a better poet than Goethe
Nothing beats der Zauberlehrling imo.

I've only read his aesthetic letters. He was too Kantian for my taste, but I agree with some of his premises, and I haven't found a better description of beauty than his play drive.
French poetry>German>>Angloshit
Italian isn't even in the equation, muh Dante doesn't count.
What?
Why doesen't Dante count? I can agree with you if it's in terms of the utility of italian in poetry.
