How did anyone get through this book to find the violence and sex? It's so tedious to read, especially the beginning.
American Psycho
that its
like the point, you spastic
I probably couldn't have gotten through it had I already not seen the movie. I just imagined the drawn out narrations in the voice of Christian Bale which brought a sense of novelty and humor to the overall exhaustive process. The various conversations and Patrick's inner monologues throughout the book are priceless, and the excellent existential tidbits at the end counteracted his almost unendurable album reviews.
Skip the outfit descriptions, retard.
I thought the conversations between Patrick and his friends were funny.
Browsing Yea Forums
I am browsing the Yea Forums (literature) board on the website 4channel.org, mainly participating in critique threads. I am wearing faux-turtleshell glasses by Oliver Peoples, a red silk tie by Dior, a three-piece suit by Men's Warehouse, and Gucci leather dress shoes over 100% cotton dress socks I purchased the previous day for $300. A post catches my attention. The original post's image is a picture of Christian Bale portraying who I believe is Patrick Bateman. Bale is wearing a blue cotton tie, red professional suspenders with golden buckles, a cotton shirt with vertical. I am unable to tell what brands he is wearing, and I believe they may be old clothes. The post number of the OP is 13395895, notably lacking good digits. It also has four replies.
"How did anyone get through this book to find the violence and sex?" the post says, which I read aloud in an apathetic monotone.
I take a quick break from reading to finish preparing my red snapper pizza rolls, cooking them for fifteen minutes and thirty seconds on high in my CuisinArt toaster oven, which is next to my brand-new Kuerig coffee maker and my collection of foreign and domestic k-cups.
"It's so tedious to read, especially the beginning."
I take time to contemplate the post, and realizing a potential for (You)s, I decide to respond, hoping for doubles at the end of my post number so I can add a screenshot of it to my collection, so I type out "brainlet", fill out the captcha (select all stop signs, a slow fade), and post. I don't get them, so in a rage I masturbate to the film Irreversible, directed by Gaspar Noé, specifically the scene in which a woman is violently raped.
Good show, old bean
do your thing, dubs man.
That's the point
Also
Checked
I gave up about 20 pages in.
It's like 150 pages, just fucking set aside an hour to read it.
Quality Yea Forums
I actually enjoyed this book so much I finished it in one sitting, I suppose it’s just a difference in taste but I found it very easy to read
this is a good post, made me chuckle
It was well written and funny as fuck.
Seriously, skip the album review chapters. I loved the book, but wish I skipped them.
Y-y-you can read 150 p-pages in a-a-a-an hour?
Based, good job.
(you)
It's over 400 pages
The whole book is about how mundane and uninteresting the yuppie lifestyle is. Bateman's lifestyle is only materialistic, and has nothing else to his life. What does a man who has all the materialistic needs want, and knows nothing about anything else?
>I don't get them, so in a rage I masturbate to the film Irreversible, directed by Gaspar Noé, specifically the scene in which a woman is violently raped
What
Does anyone have that screenshot of the user explained the Bateman is in hell theory? Number one thing I wish I'd saved...
The copy I own is 385
Killing the little kid was based.
My copy is 399 pages
It takes me almost two hours to get through 50 pages. ADHD is not something i would recommend having.
Top kek man, this fills me with will to live
Listened to it on Audible...Thrice
Fucking amazing listen.
I relate to Patrick. I think this is only for self-obsessed individuals with a propensity toward extreme reactions when it comes to social conformity. I also browse /fit/.
this sounds very interesting, seconding
seconding
Is it read by the actor?
Edgy fag
No screenshot because it's incredibly long, but here's the link to the archived thread: warosu.org
And here's one to another post the same user made: warosu.org
Incredibly well argued
Whoops, fucked up the first link: warosu.org
Interesting but I feel like its trying to read too deep into the story.
Oh fuck yourself. That killing was the best written part of the book.
