being catholic is a majority orthodox country (ahem you guess which one) is actually very comfy, and i believe the opposite is true.
the major religion is usually the "default" and most people "follow" it a bit mindlessly, while the church tries to get into govt (here at least, and very agressively), followers of minority branches seem more aware and voluntary if it's the right term.
also, i prefer gothic over byzantine architecture and catholic aesthetic over orthodox

but is virginity that much "better" than celibacy? i think it's overly praised, especially in women, while celibacy is thrown under the bus.

Agree. I think it's prioritization is mostly prescriptive counsel to avoid falling into sin in the first place. Augustine mentions something to this effect in Book 2 of his Confessions.
Clerical celibacy only became strictly mandatory in Canon Law after the mass protests around 1000 AD. Before that it was seen as an optional bonus, even if marriage was frowned upon.

personally i was a bit obsessed with sex at 16, lost virginity at that same age and realized it's not that great. not worth entering a relationship(which i despise) at all. and "one-night-stands" just seem quite disgusting. i can say i decided to go celibate after that

This graph is almost exactly the same in countries like Finland where literally nobody rejects premarital sex. Marriage is not as strong as it used to be, which means it's not that serious. Might as well get married if the sex feels good and then divorce after it doesn't anymore. The majority of marriages essentially break due to "lack of pleasure".

I don't know which church is correct right now. I read about a lot of protestants who were converting to the Orthodox church but many of them said they didn't learn enough about Roman Catholicism before making that choice.
