Watching large companies have twitter slapfights is Burgerpunk, but not Boomerwave. Mowing your lawn and going fishing is boomerwave but not Burgerpunk.

Surely burgerpunk occupies a time before twitter. It's not the present day by any means - that's post-burgerpunk.

A thing no one seems to understand is that the archetypal boomer loves his life. cyberpunk usually has an aesthetic of urban decay and overt dystopia. i'd say there's reasonable room for a genre with more functional societies with legitimate excess that still raise questions about the satisfaction of less material needs. like a more capitalist brave new world
