first of all, insults function very differently in an anonymous space than they do in the real world. calling someone a faggot nigger on /li/ is just a shorthand for disapproval most of the time, and often there's even an element of irony to it.
and even if your day has been ruined by a post you read on an imageboard, that's not a good argument for demanding reprecussions. insults are a way of showing disapproval in a personal, emotionally charged way, and that means that by definition they have the potential to be hurtful, just like punishments have to be perceived as painful in some way to function as punishments.
you can cry all day "but I hate things that I perceive as painful", but there are plenty of situations where that kind of thing is justified or even necessary.
