This was a good introduction to Rabbinic theology. BUT the author had a very liberal, PC bias. Every time a Torah passage was mentioned the author would give some liberal theologian's argument for how it was actually feminist.

I'm not even a Nazi! There is a culture surrounding Reformed Judaism that encourages social liberalism. Even with more right-wing, nationalistic authors, there is undercurrent of libertine counterculture that can't quite be hidden. A good example is Harold S. Kushner, author of When Bad Things Happen To Good People - it's an engaging work which, despite its quality, encourages a kind of blanket tolerance and willful blindness to social convention which isn't as easily found among other authorial strata.
I'm not talking about religious/orthodox Judaism, either. This is a phenomenon which is uniquely homogeneous among contemporary, secular Jewish authors of all stripes. There's nothing wrong with that, either - it's just /there/ and it's stupid to pretend like it isn't real.

If you are talking about the ashcroft study, then it showed it was one of many reasons, the chief one was autonomy though. EuU courts, laws made in Belgium etc. But even if it was immigration (a big if) then it doesn't take into account that you still assume it is a lie. There are immigration ramifications to being a member of the EU and that is a valid reason, yet if it ever tops a poll, it is deemed to be scare mongering. As if immigration concerns are not as absolutely valid as concerns over taxation, education, environment etc.

Also the fact that they kept saying that we will be "like Norway" and then rejected Mays deal to stay in the single market. It is not a lie to say there are problems with immigration when you are an EU member. There are ever increasing numbers of Islamic migrants from Syria and Turkey and other nations that live in Germany and Sweden and the Netherlands. In a generation, their children will have the right to move to the UK too. To have concerns over that is not a lie, it is a perspective.
As for money from the EU, by that token, the Remainers lied when they said our economy would be in the toilet and our nation would lose all its nurses (all EU citizens are permitted residence here now). Why is the EU not one big lie? Which side is legitimate?

Germany is like 6% Muslim and not all of these people are citizens. Very few german citizens actually migrate to the uk, we have 200k in total. Actually Germans are very low on the list of migrations to the uk with intention to stay.

For just Jewish theology, go for a handbook of Jewish thought by rabbi Aryeh Kaplan. Commonly recommended to orthodox converts.
As far as a summary of Jewish canon I'm not so certain. Commentary and exegesis on our texts can be very dense.
As far as taking in depth looks at specific books, I would recommend either Artscroll or Yalkut Meam Loez/The Torah anthology e.g. Artscroll Joshua/judges or Meam Loez Ruth.
Rabbi Telushkins work definitely is a very liberal reading and not what I would describe as orthodox.

The problem with progressivism is there is no end goal, one generation of progressives gets something done then the next says "we need to go farther!" and then we get celebrating 4% of the population who make up 30% of the child molestors and 40-60% of the serial killers
