Say I want to live a perfect life. What books do I read? How do I read them? What languages should I learn? All of human wisdom is found in books, isn’t it? Even the wisdom that tells us to do other things beyond reading? So what do I read? Where to start? How do I maximize my potential and live a life without regret?

start with the Qur'an
but I don’t know Arabic
There is no "perfect" life, whatever you do you will regret something.
You just have to wake up every day and do something that is good, if you manage at least that your life wasn't wasted.
Read it in English first

All these self help book are a scam , sure they might have tricks to help and make you feel motivated , but no one can tell you how to change better than yourself , go out to some place were you feel calm and think about your life challenge all of your beliefs , and you will be guided
My lack of omniscience is frightening to me. I believe there is an objectively best path for me in my life, but I don’t know what it is. I’m indecisive as a result. I can’t just pick up a book and start reading because I think of all the possible alternatives. What to eat, what exercises to do, what skills I should acquire, what job I should get...it’s overwhelming. At times I’ve been interested in becoming a monk and forgetting the troubles of this world, but that’s a huge decision and there’s reasons to not do that (I want to have a family, I want to be social, etc.)
If I could just see the path in front of me, I would take it.
>I believe there is an objectively best path for me in my life
I doubt that, whatever you do, you will regret what you didn't do.
Standing forever in front of two doors, figuring out which one to open is setting yourself up for failure. Not making a decision is practically the worst decision you can make.
And the only reasonable way to learn how to make better decisions is to fail, to make the wrong decision, look back and learn from it.
Steppenwolf.
Monster manga or anime lads?
There is only one possible path and you're already on it. Your actions were decided the moment the universe was born.
Improve yourself as you wish, but there is no such thing as perfection or if there is, your life already is it.
Life is ugly and not clean and perfect, you must be willing to engage it as said, making mistakes and learning from those. Mistakes are a part of life, too.
Read Moby Dick. That's exactly what the book is about, the unknowability of ultimate reality.
Kys, Hermann Hesse sucked
you cannot live a perfect life, but you can make it tolerable by reading books. First you can try reading books that you find amusing and are close to your interests, so that this enjoyment makes you get use to reading. You dont want this to be a chore, then start reading whatever you get your hands on, and diversify. Read opposing theories, old and new writers, cult books and classics, your brain will start opening up. There is no correct author, there is no perfect life

don't. It's the biggest, overrated garbage that I have ever watched. I swear to you by everything that I am that the anime is pure shit.
a book is just fucking words. i could write a book right now and fill it with bullshit. just because something is in a book dont mean shit. wisdom is anywhere if you look for it hard enough.

Learn Chinese and a bunch of computer skills so you can work from home and avoid spending all your time in an office and running back and forth from home to work. Chinese will replace English as the language you need to know to work, the Chinese are becoming huge and have zero interest in using any language other than their own
Travel the old world until you find a place you would be happy to live in, and learn the languages of that place (don't bother exploring the new world, you'll just waste time and money because it's a cultural wasteland), move there
Move to a small, friendly town
Everything else is unimportant
I have had powerful religious experiences after reading both Zoroastrian and Buddhist texts. Nothing from the Abrahamic traditions moved me. What led to strong religious experiences from me was reading high-quality children's literature AND horror stories. I found the light of Ahura Mazda in picture books and the darkness of Ahriman in horror stories. Afterwords, I received messages from both Ahura Mazda and Ahriman in "dreams". They were not quite like dreams but more akin to "transporting" me somewhere that gave great metaphysical messages.
If you want to follow my path, I recommend finding the most wholesome, beautiful picture books and also the most decadent, disturbing horror stories. Read them side-to-side and let the duality consume you.
I can feel Ahura Mazda's light in this:

I can feel Ahriman's darkness in this:

It is essential to understand both but tailor your life to the former. This is called Asha.
I think a better life is one lived "locally" so to speak. It's not necessarily geographical, but you should read books written by folks from your city or state. Read things that interest you deeply. Don't force yourself to read the canon or some big random list of "good" books. That is almost as bad as being told to read more women and PoC authors.
