The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak

>The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak
Is there any greater sorrow than knowing in your mind you could be so much more than the limitations of your bodily desires allow?

Time was when survival meant you were strong. Now, everyone survives, but very few are strong. Luxury is harmful, but no one wants to escape it. To go beyond what is required is almost meaningless in the modern age, or at least it appears that way. How can you convince yourself to do what isn’t necessary? But maybe our luxuries are also unnecessary, and we can avoid these too. Then what are we left with? Pure idleness. But I suppose one can never be idle spiritually. But such a task is even more difficult than the physical. This world is evil because when you realize that your habits are important, you have already been constantly exposed to the vicious habits of consuming media, junk food, and committing all sorts of sins that are not publicly despised, but praised. To know that you must change is half, nay, far less than half, of the battle. To go on for years, knowing that you could be so much better, pitying your past and all your negative influences, yet never changing, because your body feels no reason to change...that is torture.

no, this some pussy shit

Retard

Your body is your spirit. If either is weak, both are. Faggot.

Cringe, but also partially true. The body should become strong because of the spirit and living a spirited life, but simply lifting weights doesn't actually help the spirit

Then what does user

Ah yes, that paraplegic with aspirations to walk simply has a frail mind.
Some truly do live by a different set of rules than we do. I understand your reaction, we do live in times where weakness is celebrated and to be indulged in. Instead of conquered. Conspiratory in nature or not, no one can deny the current state of humanity. The strong are no longer championed but instead despised because of how easy they have it. Completely dismissing the growth and struggle some of them go through to rise to their status.
Even when you look at top athletes or actors or anyone who displays their succes to the public almost all of them have sad parts to them. Be it social anxiety (this is a laughable claim to make as a public figure btw) or maybe a bad childhood.

When OP says weak flesh he's talking about desire and vices.

Philosophy, wisdom, and understanding.

Yes, but the point still stands. A strong enough spirit will overcome such vices

>A strong enough spirit will overcome such vices
Which isn't real life.

That's not how it works in the real world. Different people have different fundamental limits.

Why can't "vices" belong to the soul?

Lose weight, fatty

Why would they?

Do you live in the stone age? A paraplegic can still take care of his body so that his mind remains clear and supplied by fresh blood that goes through body thanks to a physically strong heart. An actual example of weakness of flesh/spirit is being addicted to pornography.

Why wouldn't they?

Never ever did or would I say everyone is capable of achieving such spirit

If you actually tended to your body then you'd know this is false
The real sorrow is that there isn't enough time in a lifetime to master the body and mind

Because no one deep in their heart wants to be an alcholic, obese, degenerate.

>your mind you could be so much more
Some examples please?

>master the body and mind
Master for what?

Yes - not having the volition and/or desire to transcend those limitations. All Souls that are inspired into healthy physical bodies possess the capability to reach, exceed and transcend their natural material limitations through martialism. Body must become light, free, firm - like resolute Spirit, and like it was during its childhood.
