Anyone else a radical bloody postmodern neomarxist and proud of it? Let’s get a reading list going. What’s the canon?
PoMoNeoMarx General
not me, i like food and money
>another thread loosely related to literature
sage & hide
should I be a postmodernist or a marxist?
Be yourself :)
Be both. They go well together.
I’m an avid anti-marxist/anti-Jewish hegemony, but to defeat your enemies you have to first understand them.
Those are all non-sequiturs. The logical conclusion of postmodern thought is neoliberalism, and in particular neoliberalism with an emphasis on the importance of protecting Israel as an ally in the volatile middle east.
Lol. I love trash like this.
>yeah bro just read the phenomenlogy of spirit
You can't just 'read' PoS, it takes ages to adequately understand and interpret. No wonder most Marxists are such fucking idiots
op here. I’m also against Jews. But I’m curious: why are you against Marx? Thanks for the list.
Marxism is an economic doctrine with political and historiographical appendages
"Cultural Marxism"is like saying "Chemical Keynesianism". It just doesn't make any fucking sense
>he doesn't understand chemical keynesianism
>not understanding the stimulus created by government investment into Dow and DuPont with the side aim of flouridizing the goyische population
lol, retard
Marx is so much more than an economic doctrine. That’s one aspect of his project and not even the most compelling one.
I mean "chemical"as in "chemistry". I was trying to say that applying Marx to culture is like applying Keynes to chemistry. It's nonsensical
>he doesn't understand the radical transmulgation of particles in an accelerator acting in accordance with the MPC-based Keynesian multiplicity property
it means treating race, gender, etc. like theyre economic classes where one exploits the other analogous to capitalists and proles. As in, that is the way the term is used by the people who use it sincerely
It's literally the center of his project, for which everything else is created and through which everything is tied together.
...
That's just Foucaultism or Althusserism
>oui oui le faggots are le oppressed
But that doesn't make any sense either. The historical progression essential to Marxism is a result of innovations in productive technology and the changes in social relations are changes in modes of production. How the fuck do you technologically innovate race relations?
You haven’t read him.
Marxists are "idiots" because they understand Hegel and you don't
Feeling insecure, user?
It's an epithet, the entire point is that it doesn't make sense. It's accusing the cultural Marxists of being too stupid to understand Marx and applying him to social situations his analysis doesn't fit.
To be clear they dont like his economic analysis either and haven't actually read Marx, but that is the way the term is being used. The sentiment is basically 'those Jews in the universities have stopped trying to cause conflict by economic means and are now using race and gender instead to stir shit up'.
So you're seriously telling me that the critique of the capitalist mode of production isn't his central theme? If not, please correct me
Holy fuck has nobody on this board actually read Marx? This thread is an embarrassment.
I've read and been influenced by a good amount of postmodern theory and I call myself a communist and I can tell you postmodern neomarxism does not exist. Period. There are postmodernists, there are Marxists, they often write about each other, but never fondly. Some postmodernists were influenced by Marx, this is not the same thing as being a Marxist. Aristotle was influenced by Plato, he wasn't a Platonist. Kant was influenced by Hume, he wasn't a Humean. Hegel was influenced.by Kant, he wasn't a Kantian.
I majored in Hegel you cunt
>I call yourself a communist
I call you a faggot
what university gives out degrees in Hegel?
Based p/acc here. Fuck this slow-ass boomer.
>They go well together.
That's unfortunate. Go read some Aristotle and see if you can unclog yourself
>bro you have to read Marx
>bro you have to read the Bible
hmm
I'm a poststructural anarchist, rather
Why do that when you can just ignore ads and read real metaphysics?
I'm a liberalist *chuckles*
Still trying to avoid the reading. Just read him. You owe it to yourself, this board and Marx for commenting on him in ignorance.
What motivates this? I don't feel any of these things.
I think continental philosophers are too depressive and their entire work is just a cope for it
>Aristotle was influenced by Plato, he wasn't a Platonist
Almost every sentence in your post reveals ignorance but this one is the worst offender. Engage with the straussians to find out how laughable your statement is. In particular, look into Ronna Burger.
Quote me Burger saying Aristotle was a Platonist; I'll be waiting
I'm reading Capital literally right now tho
Don't, it's bad economics. Read something by Samuelson instead
"The abolition [Aufhebung] of private property is therefore the complete emancipation of all human senses and qualities, but it is this emancipation precisely because these senses and attributes have become, subjectively and objectively, human. The eye has become a human eye, just as its object has become a social, human object – an object made by man for man. The senses have therefore become directly in their practice theoreticians. They relate themselves to the thing for the sake of the thing, but the thing itself is an objective human relation to itself and to man, [In practice I can relate myself to a thing humanly only if the thing relates itself humanly to the human being. – Note by Marx] and vice versa. Need or enjoyment have consequently lost its egotistical nature, and nature has lost its mere utility by use becoming human use."
>bro its just economics
the labor theory is sketchy, I agree, but it's pretty encyclopedic and I'm enjoying it so far. The analysis of commodities was a lot more sophisticated and interesting than what you usually get
Do the work, worthless lazy piece of shit.
If you can't defend your points don't post
Private property isn't personal property
what does this have anything to do with what I just posted
>X
>not X, read Y
>quote me Y saying not X
>HEH DEFEND MY ARGUMENT? FOOL! READ ALL OF Y'S OEUVRE
I don’t have a point to defend. If you stop being lazy and actually do some reading, you will see how stupid you are. But here, you don’t actually even have to do any reading. I know that activity is too strenuous for you. So I’ll tell you what, go to YouTube and find Ronna Burger’s interview with Bill Kristol. Hell, they make it further easier for troglodytes like you by breaking up the interview into segments, one of which is conveniently labeled “Aristotle”. Try real hard to pay attention to what they say. Can you handle that?
>he still can't defend his statement about Aristotle and Plato
sad tbqh, what platform are you used to that you think your display here isn't embarrassing
>I don’t have a point to defend
why did you post in this thread then?
So much dick-measuring in this thread. Any red-leaning stuff ya'll are reading now. I dip in and out of some of Adorno's stuff after reading about how much of an influence he had on Doctor Faustus by Mann, but damn if it isn't some of the most dense prose out there.
Oh that's horseshit. Marx isn't the only Marxist.
I've been flipping back and forth between Benjamin's texts the last year or two. Increasingly think he might have been the smartest guy of the 21st century. There's a reason Schmitt and Klages feared him.
Also speeding of Mann, apparently some correspondences between Benjamin and Mann were recently uncovered. I don't think they've been published or translated yet though
people like Benjamin and Adorno read with all the gravitas of an entire movement of good writers behind them. I'd totally be down reading some correspondence between benji and mann though. I still haven't finished my copy of one dimensional man or dubord yet which is a bit embarassing on my own end. Any recommendations you want to throw out to a guy still getting his feet wet ?
Then you're not paying attention or you're so far removed from developed urban life that these developments are not entirely relevant to you. Yet again you're in a Mongolian basket weaving missive site, so it's very likely that you're just a pleb.
>Any recommendations you want to throw out to a guy still getting his feet wet ?
Depends what you're looking for
But anyone interested in 20th century Marxism must read the 1844 manuscripts and Lukacs's History and Class Consciousness.
>Be me, /pol/tard.
>Want to make shitty /pol/thread but don't want to hear the usual 'Juden Peterstein' shit.
>Get idea
>What if I were to make a /pol/ thread and disguise it as a Yea Forums thread by adding the phrase "Let’s get a reading list going"?
>Ohohohoh, delightfully devilish, user.
Correct, there's also rich boi Fred 'sugardaddy' Engels.
>learn more: Yea Forums.org/pol
Foucault was a Post-Modern Marxist
Yikes
Can you take your shit to /pol/ please? This isnt /leftypol/
Every day another garbage pseud marx thread
lol why? would have been faster to throw that money in a furnace
PoMoNeoMarx would be The One-Dimensional Man, Are Prisons Obsolete?, and Capitalist Realism.
>I messed up...
>bad.
I live in a city of 8 million
I have a job as a purveyor of capitalism in the financial services industry
