But Chomsky proved everyone has the exact same grammar.

I fucking hate this shit. Unbelievably lazy.

really?

It's just a thesaurus clad in marketing bullshit, right?

No it really does fix shitty grammar. Problem is you don't learn anything by having it fixed like that for you. It seems to be getting a lot of use on college campuses right now.

My first two english classes in college were great for my grammar. Much of high school felt like a waste by how useful those two courses were.

Nah that universal grammar stuff is bullshit

Do you have an example of something it would fix?

I have a degree and didn't learn grammar until I taught myself at 26

How does that make any fucking sense

It irritates the hell out of me that there are two ads per video on YouTube now.

if people read more this shit would not be necessary. your grammar is a direct result of what you read, and how much, growing up.

American public school can be incredibly inefficient.

What's wrong with 'really big'?

Something about dicks, i guess

There is a prevaling thought within the contemporary writing community that the use of adverbs is inherently inferior to using a more forceful verb/adjective. So "really big" is grammatically correct but they would have you replace it with "huge" instead.

Or what you read, rather. I know plenty of people who read airport literature and still write like shit.

I don't know how to use commas or semicolons, and I graduated from high school. Trying to learn now though.

It's all about tone in relation to your audience. "Really big" sounds amateurish and unprofessional, and it's not succinct, either. This bitch is presumably writing a request to a professor for a recommendation letter, so her writing needs to make her appear confident, educated, and professional.
