What’s new?
Reconciling the ethical implications of this with a teleological God that is unknowable within the infinite versions of a multiverse, and using this assumption to talk about perennial godheads, such as those found in Hinduism. I'm not sure I've been on the right tract, but whenever I come to my thoughts of angels and demons and Saints in particular, I wonder about characters like Shiva in relation to God's grace. I am also searching for a copy of that French Catholic anti-enlightenment philosopher. Interesting days, eh?
>I am also searching for a copy of that French Catholic anti-enlightenment philosopher.
De Maistre?
Yes.
Can someone rec some books that are good for delivering beginner catholic thought in a somewhat light/accessible way?
No. Go away.
Summa Theologica
No you.
I am an atheist, and I concede the inverse of what this entire thread is about. I will be honest with you. All of you. I detest hedonists. I detest most brands of atheism because it is simply a cover, a refutation of rules and precepts prescribed by it frankly because they want to be able to live their profligate lives with impunity. I have beautiful hypotheses concerning the mind, our habits, behaviors, and structures governing all of these. And yet, despite my eloquence, despite my heartfelt intent for them to propagate, they have been, and always, viciously attacked by people who, unable to evaluate any of my called claims on their own merits, accost me religious. Friends, I was once vehemently anti-religious. More adverse to the whole ordeal than Enver Hoxha. But, years and years of being called some fundamentalist, I had it. I would rather fuel the so-called religious fundamentalists that they tilt their windmills at when jousting with me, and lend them my arguments. This is why I will on occasion 'LARP' as a catholic. Some too of the only people who have ever taken my advice and writings to heart where catholic, so this isn't out of spite entirely, no I'm glad to help them as some sort of debt owed. It's beyond the message boards. This who dilemma depresses me. So much so I consider doing the same in real life: become, not a crypto-catholic but a crypto-atheist Catholic. At least my words won't go in one ear and out the other, considered temporally but expiring the moment they sit down, eat dinner, watch rick and morty and masturbate themselves to sleep, to finally wake up anesthetized back to business as usual. Atheists and agnostics are as described. It's very rare to meet one as myself. I tend to slowly hate and resent the person after I learn of their daily going-ons. Resentment even. I learned this long ago, perhaps back in my undergraduate days where I thought atheists, so called free thinkers (a label even then I derided) who superficially seemed 'enlightened' but then, would go, if only in speech, back to play some COD, smoke weed, imbibe EtOH, relay and relive past moments of debauchery—it occurred to me without resolute profundity this, they were like children justifying and excusing their own life styles which have transmuted into resolute necessities, unable to be questioned. Indeed, their rejoicing was replaced with recoiling on my part, and I have severed almost all of them from my life. To date, there is a single atheist friend I have with likewise similar views about life and , the rest rather religious. It is lonely to be in such a predicament where you have views where if truly expressed incense both the religious and atheist alike.
Fascinating. Better hit confession.
if God puts as many people in Hell as the Bible says He does and for the reasons it says He does, then He is pointlessly cruel and unworthy of worship. if He does not do either, then the Bible is incorrect
stop making threads about a deity who is either (A) evil or (B) not the real one
whatever you say bro
>I have beautiful hypotheses concerning the mind, our habits, behaviors, and structures governing all of these.
Care to elaborate
I miss EFG
I remember when I was 14, too.
t. 15
You are? My mistake.
>no u
Who are you quoting?
This fag lol
hold on, let me review our conversation for a second, I know you're baiting but honestly it's more fun this way
>I don't believe in God because X Y and Z
>you're 14, aren't you?
>sounds like it's you who is underage, older than your accusation by a year
>you're 15? sorry, I don't know how pronouns work
>so you're just turning my point back at me with no embellishment?
>where did you get that idea? I literally never did that even though I just did
here's your courtesy (You), free of charge
Hey guys. Any ideas on what we can do to undermine the Protestant agenda behind the scenes?
No, I'd rather not. I need sleep and have written too much all ready. I before, limited to rather specific topic. But I'll endeavor to.
Mostly it's questions of autonomy; questions of choice, questions of a liminality in the process of choice, a certain zone where the allowance of all options makes for an inefficient outcome, a pinball in the hands of circumstance where some rigidity is rather liberating in controlling its trajectory to some degree; habit being something stronger and more pernicious than the whipping boys frequently attached to it, boiling down to our most minute actions, even checking the phone. A stew of ideas still simmering. I will publish them under more formal pretenses with less philosophical blandishment, less creativity and so to lay out a certain baseline for this or that which I feel is most important, and when they have been better thought out and more concretely established. Some are contradictory and these need to be reconciled before proceeding. This isn't even a partial overview. A few ideas at in the very distance. Hopefully they will come closer into clarity for any who is curious in the coming years, by then, 'god willing', my professional circumstance will have improved (et omnia vanitas!) to allow all this but we will see.
you faggots already have a thread stop shitting up the board
keep praying to Mary and her decidedly mortal vagina like you always have, it'll eventually help
>I know you're baiting
>no u
Who are you quoting? I see no posts that read "you're 14, aren't you?" or "where did you get that idea? I literally never did that even though I just did."
Worry not, newfag, for I am correcting your ill-mannered posting behavior, hopefully for the betterment of not just the sake of this board, but of your own sake.
baiting is best responded to with counterbait

???
I see none of those quotes anywhere.
Like, I Ctrl+F them and they are all sourced back to your posts.
I get the feeling you're abusing the quoting function for your own nefarious purposes...
>he doesn't know how t. works
>he doesn't know that arrowposting is used for direct quotes and paraphrasing, context dependent
this is either elaborate bait, or this is your first week on 4channel. either way, I'm bored of this, go spaz out at someone else
Again, you're not telling me who doth thou quoth, so I suppose that leaves me to disregard your posts. Sorry, I don't make the rules here.
holy autism he's just repeating a dumb /jp/ meme and you fell for it
>he uses /jp/ often enough to know their memes
go away
okay
but first tell me who you are quoting.
Ok I'll bite.. what's the protestant agenda?
t. lutheran.
Seriously, where are you quoting from? Is this a joke?
Satanism.
Yea I thought it was gonna be something like that. Thanks.
>
who the fuck are you quoting
All the same exact faggot. Such autism
Turning people who are somewhat spiritually inclined but ignorant into atheists. Liberal Christianity is an atheism factory.
