I'm well aware of the statement, however generally I think that this is a stupid thing to say and can not be proven, It's not about winning, it's about finding a compromises and working things out. Basically, this type of thinking is missguided, it's narcissism fueled with smug self-promotion and moral judgement over others. It's almost as if they are so needy that they need to cling on to this feeling: True goodness cannot exist if it's made into a competition or or survival game.

It's not strange, it's what they do deliberately. To identify as a group they create an outgroup which gives their group an inherent identity. Once they have identity they need purpose and the politics of struggle commences. They're far more egotistical than any objectivist or stirnerian.
