Borges's greedy cunt of a wife, MarĂa Kodama, let them fall out of print because the contract Norman had signed with Borges gave him 50% of the profits. Check your local library and online inter-library loan systems, or buy used copies off of abebooks. Don't read Andrew Hurley's translations.

Hurley's translations are good but NOT approved by Borges. In some cares Borges said that DiGiovanni's translations were better than the original Spanish.

If youre looking for ebooks they are still on libgen

Some lines. Not entire works.

DiGiovanni's translations are definitive. There's no reason to ever translate Borges into English again, and it infuriates me that these perfect translations are kept out of the public's hands. Kodama needs to fuck off.

doing the lord's work

Where to start with Borges?

Universal History of Infamy (small book, anyway)
Ficciones
The Aleph
The Book of Sand
Brodie's Report

Jorge "My wife is asian" Luis Borges

don't start with a universal history of infamy. start with ficciones.

Yea, I guess you're right.

So is there any possibility of a reprint? Or is it literally impossible?

when she dies, perhaps.

She's over 80 years old; the answer is to wait and pray that her successor isn't as greedy.

>pray that her successor isn't as greedy.
They're Argentines, not sure what you're expecting. Their country is literally facing an economic crisis. Whoever her successor might be, he'll be just as greedy and hungry as her.

won't happen until they're public domain

>37 years until Borges's original Spanish writings are in the public domain
>68 years Norman Thomas di Giovanni's translations are in the public domain
Fuck.

all I have

all in pdf

Neither of these are working for me

where do you live? the first one worked for me

>5 years since reading Fictions, and still haven't started learning spanish
Why am I so fucking lazy

>Why am I so fucking lazy
the web is stopping you from doing anything of worth

Never mind, the first one works. Although some of the stories are translated by Anthony Kerrigan, did Giovanni not translate those? Also does anyone have an epub version? I'd prefer that.
Seriously fuck that greedy bitch
