Modern architecture makes me vomit
bump with my home library
:)
Stop
What if all of them are federal
we've got a lot of libraries on campus but this is the nicest
Old architecture doesn't make me think anything at all for the most part
Way too angular. Looks like a confusion of haphazard shapes that the architect slapped together while in a fever
Looks like an upscale mall
This is a cool shape for a building, but it is fighting for an identity. Why ape the colosseum? Making a place of learning resemble a gladiatorial combat arena is a little offputting
Bulldoze it. I hate the way that concrete, prisonlike structure on the left contrasts with that dainty "sleek" modernist middle segment. A heinous clash of discordant themes and shapes.
Looks shopped. And impractical.
This one looks like it has something going on, but I'm not sure about the metallic texture of the interior.
Looks streamlined, orderly, airless Productive and efficient but not necessarily inviting.
Liking the curve and the classic honeycomb layout. The red floor makes me want to be alert and interested. The ceiling leaves something to be desired. Looks like a giant air conditioning vent. Those cylindrical lighting fixtures are also a bit offensive.

Dat some SSEES there? I used to struggle to get a decent seated place, but it's lovely and I wish I was still allowed in.
Based user
literally just google old-school library and that'll get your dick hard grow up this isent the 18th century modern architecture gets me hard.
Library of Corfu, used to be english military quarters
It ain't grand but it has a big book collection and it's pretty cozy inside
Why does everything look like shit so far?
>pic, the library i frequent often
Anyone from Cornell? How comfy is the library
Good thread
When I was living in Cincinnati I would drop by the Mercantile after work and read for a few hours despite not being a member. I met John Darnielle there, he had a book reading, and we spent a while talking about urban development in North Carolina. It's a nice place, especially since it's tucked away on the top floor of a building full of companies, making it feel like a nice secret between you and the others there.
Nice
Btw has anyone read john darnielle's book? I cant imagine it being great but idk

Austin, TX. This is the rooftop terrace area, my favorite reading spot in the world.

Rio de Janeiro - Brazil
Thanks user. Crash course in critique. The reason for Yea Forums
Garbage fact: GUESS WHAT? You fucking can't borrow books in there, it's 100% a museum now. You can schedule an appointment to "consult" a book (without leaving the building), and that's all.
Brazil, i can't even anymore... wasted potential land
The LA Central Library is one of the few places I unabashedly like in Los Angeles.
>No religious libraries allowed.
I can't tell if you are trolling or being serious
Why does it illuminati?
my local
? Not sure what you mean user. At any rate Egyptian Revival was a big style when it was built.
