People have the right to write whatever art they want; if their vision of a character is a "sexy woman", then there's nothing wrong with writing her so. However, I do think it's unfortunate how rare there is with genuinely well-written female character, and how a "default" character is a male, and that there implicitly has to be something sexual when a female character is introduced. It's not a criticism towards individual authors, but towards culture in general.

Just for the sake of argument, what's wrong with just flipping a coin when deciding on the sex for an undecided character?
