What did Jesus mean by this? Did Gnosticism anticipate neuroscience?

I doubt he really said that all the Gnostic gospels sound like LARP.

That top-down Ontology is so good that barely a thing should distinguish itself from God, and that bottom-up Ontology also concludes in God, begrudgingly.

He was just wondering.
He didn’t know. He wasn’t a god

Truly awful reply.

>it was the original Christianity
Not really. It was a syncretist movement that attached itself to Christianity. But I was talking more about the texts, I doubt they were organic.

Don't sully this thread any further, have a go at this instead:

Not even whining. You project.

IT MEANS THAT IF THE FACT THAT MATTER DERIVES FROM SPIRIT, THE FORMER BEING A DENSIFICATION OF THE LATTER, SEEMS WONDROUS TO THE IGNORANT, THEIR ERRONEOUS, MATERIALISTIC, NOTION OF SPIRIT BEING A SUPERFLUITY OF MATTER, SHOULD BE A GREATER CAUSE OF WONDER TO THEM, BECAUSE IT IS AN ABSURDITY.

I don't know if Gnostic Jesus meant this, but if you take the words at face value, the observation is pretty good. If mind is first, and it's anything like an active, willing principle, it's not too surprising if it could put together a material world. Likewise, if all that matter is, is a theoretical posit, mind could stipulate it. And if matter is just possible and actual sense experience, then (on most accepted accounts) mind literally would create it.

By contrast, there's an explanatory gap when trying to explain the origin of mind from physical matter.

The assertion Gnostic Jesus is likely making is that matter emanated from some primordial spiritual Gnostic aeons, which is pretty wild and hard to accept. But other than that, it's a decent Gnostic excerpt.

Jesus never said that.

He meant man willed himself into existence.
