Hurr durr support me because I have the blood of rulers and this guy's a pleb

>hurr durr support me because I have the blood of rulers and this guy's a pleb
What the fuck was this retarded Mary Sue shit? If anything Azula's speech should've only increased the Dai Li's loyalty and respect for Long Feng. The men on the field have always respected their commanders more than any notion of royal blood, which is exactly why so many military rebellions have happened in Chinese history. Hell the Dai Li already showed to be no different in this regard given their loyalty to Long Feng over the Earth King, yet Azula's royal blood is apparently the difference maker?

This is a way bigger ass pull than the turtle thing.

Are you dumb? The big difference was that she was with the winning team

She had already won by that point by proving her ability to the Dai Li prior to that point. She didn't get away with anything, she was merely giving a victory speech to a battle she'd already won

The only legitimate support for royalty are gallows.

Seeing people try to defend either instead of just admitting they're ass pulls in a mediocrely written children's show is always funny though

>hurr durr ">hurr durr support me because I have the blood of rulers and this guy's a pleb"
People followed her because she was fucking crazy, very skilled at magic martial arts, crazy as hell, a good tactician, completely nutso, petty as hell, and a fucking nutcase.

I kneel.

>Long Feng is a loser who'd rather pretend the massively one-sided war doesn't exist. Eventually, the Fire Nation is going to get past the walls and when that happens you'll all be hunted down like dogs. So join my side now and be on the winning team.

If the Dai Li or whatever they're spelled tried to pick a fight she'd smoke them in about a minute

I'd like to think she's not that much of a Mary Sue but yeah probably since it's a shitty kid's show

"Divine" right? People worship gods in a world of spirit shit?

Why wouldn't they? They'd be more prone to superstition even.

Mostly because of the fact that it's real, kek

The ATLA threads prove that Azula has the charisma of a great leader. People don't just follow her because she is competent but because she has that personal charm. Live speeches are incredibly important for politicians to this day for a reason. It is easy to shittalk this scene from an outsider perspective but the point is that if you met Azula you would eat out of her hand in a minute.

>but the point is that if you met Azula you would eat out of her hand in a minute.

Only if she'd let me...

Firebenders are the most broken fuckin' group aside from Airbenders considering they can literally just pull fire out of the air whenever they feel like it.
Meanwhile it feels like Earthbenders forget what they're standing on half the time.

Mostly because it makes sense, fire nation are going to win, flipping sides to save your ass is a very "secret police" move.

The Dai Li are just Azula fanboys.

...

>Hell the Dai Li already showed to be no different in this regard given their loyalty to Long Feng over the Earth King, yet Azula's royal blood is apparently the difference maker?
The Dai Li weren't loyal to the Earth King, the Earth Kingdom, or Long Feng, they were loyal to Ba Sing Se. They sided with whoever would benefit the city and themselves the most.

That's a load of shit, glowniggers are consistently some of the most subservient dogs to their respective states. Double agents occasionally pop up but are individual cases, no glownigger agency as a whole has ever fermented rebellion against their own state.

>no glownigger agency as a whole has ever fermented rebellion against their own state.

Also she was hot, that's 100% a factor

>be earth nation
>be based on Han Chinese
>be a bunch of bug people who have only known following established kings and rulers
>be idiotic NPCs that can't comprehend the ability of free thought
>essentially are nothing more than socio-political masochists
>see super royal cunny tell you to follow her rule with an iron fist.
>betray your paper pushing boss who has little to no practical skills himself other than betrayal
If anything it was too realistic

Azula was literally insane and botched both of her times as a ruler within days.

What the fuck happened to him anyway? There's like zero mentions of him in Season 3, comics or Korra

name one
>inb4 da CIA is why I saw a brown person yesterday so they're actually destroying America

The FBI

I guess I'd assume he was left in charge of the city (under fire nation supervision) and was thrown in prison after its liberation

How exactly has the FBI rebelled against the US government?

>name one
>but not THAT one!

January 6th

The CIA has only worked in the interests of the US government. Maybe not the people, but that's irrelevant to the point.

honey pots so that the government can justify clamping down further on certain groups != betraying the state they serve

Nah

I mean, the joke on her is that she inherited her mental illness from her parents.

It's like, my grandma was Queen Victoria and I'm the heir to the throne of Russia but if if get a paper-cut I might bleed to death because I'm a hemophiliac.

>Gods are literally 100% proven to be real beyond a shadow of a doubt and are capable of regular and even daily interactions with common people under the right circumstances
>"Oh those things with immense power beyond our understanding that are capable of bringing us either fortune or misery are real? Better not worship them and potentially make them mad or unwilling to help us in times of need."
Unironically what the actual fuck is your logic here

ywnbaw

The only reason people followed her cause her dad was the big bad. Without him, they wouldn't have much reason to trust or follow her. She's still just a little girl playing grownup.

Then she should have said that rather than sniff her own farts because her dad is a king

What are you talking about? Azula was respected and feared on her own. She was incredibly competent from an early age. She took Ba Sing Se in a day. She was expected to become the strongest firebender ever lived and the greatest Fire Lord after inheriting the throne from her father.

None of that matters when even the Dai Li likely went

>Oh, she's representing the Fire Lord. I guess we can play along.

The only reason she wasn't put up for ransom or killed is because the Dai Li already assumed that their kingdom was about to fall. Might as well be enforcers than future prisoners.

Why did Long Gone even give full authority of the Dai Li to an enemy commander when all he even needed to do was to have the glowies arrest the generals and the king?

Sorry but I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I literally stated in my post that gods and divine shit were real in Avatar and somehow you took from that that I don't think people would have worshipped them for that reason

>should've
But it didn't. Sounds like you're assblasted, OP.

Well not really, it's in line with her personallity

Didnt the Dai Li play for both sides on the war?

I always assumed Azula influenced and bribed the Dai Li to a point where there were already completely loyal to her when she backstabbed Long Feng. I thought she just wanted to dab on him for being born into a peasant family.

Kennedy, if you don't buy that the CIA had an obvious role in his death then a bunch of OSS goons who would later go on to found the CIA with the backing of guys like Prescott Bush and JP Morgan plus other bankers got insanely close to overthrowing FDR, prevented by Smedley Butler. Also Nixon kind of. Carter via Iran Contra as well, though that was more about getting their figure head Reagan in while CIA goon Bush ran the country. The Turks multiple times, Italy, Greece, Argentina, Spain etc. all have a bunch of examples post WW2 often doing so with backing from the CIA.

CIA works in the interest of itself and US multi-nationals, that's why the Government has no oversight on them.

You mean to say he was turned trans?

Long Feng lied to everyone about the war. He's hardly a commander and not someone worthy of respect.

AU where Azula doesn't want to give up Ba Sing Se opting to rule it instead of surrender it to her dad.

Samefag

also no it ins't an ass pull, you are the same guy of the turtle threads, you don't know what an asspull is, she proved her skills to everybody and then used it to boost her argument of noble lineages being genetically superior what the vast majority of the world until a couple of centuries ago believed.

Did you forget the part where the authority of the United States officially comes from the governed?
You might as well say the CIA is loyal to itself.

Here's an even bigger plothole: why didn't long feng release himself instead of letting this fire nation princess take charge of his secret police? It's not like the rest of ba sing se knew that azula was leading a coup, why would it be different if he was doing it? Shit made zero percent sense.

Long feng was the most retarded character in the show by far, none of his motivations made sense. If he and the generals knew about the war, why didnt they like the avatar's plan? They end the war, the king is still clueless, and they gain control of a bunch of earth kingdom territories as the liberators.

>why didn't long feng release himself instead of letting this fire nation princess take charge of his secret police? It's not like the rest of ba sing se knew that azula was leading a coup, why would it be different if he was doing it?
Plotbending

Because all his allies betrayed him and he was alone? He hated the previous goverment and had no allies in the coup one.

He had the entire glownigger secret army under his command. He didn't need to hand them over to Azula just so they could arrest 5 generals and the king.

Way to completely misread the point of that entire scene. Inside of the Earth Kingdom, Azula has literal negative royal powers. She's as good as some rando who snuck into some city and intentionally got captured so she could speed up the process of sizing up the most powerful man in the kingdom. Long Feng had a shit ton of power, but his biggest weakness is that he knows that if anyone actually challenged him rather than fearing his title, he would crumble. The entire arc of Team Avatar calling his bluff and breaking his shit is proof that Long Feng is nothing more than the guy who has the most earthbenders to command. Azula called him a little bitch and within ten seconds he was kneeling, proving her entire point that Long Feng is an old ladder climbing limpdick whereas people want to follow Azula. No throne, no title, no resources besides herself and two friends whose actions in that arc start and end at "Get ourselves captured until Azula runs this city."
