I was thinking original since in my mind a good sidekick is one made to compliment the hero they will be mentored by. Whether that is by giving them similar powers that Carol could help him hone, or by giving him very different powers that play off Carol's well that would be up for the creative team to decide.

We kinda had that one shot during Infinity Countdown where she became Rogue in one story and took Rick Jones spot with Mar-Vell in another.
I'd rather a bigger WI where she gets the symbiote after being kicked out of the Avengers. But they kicked off the new WI line with a Venom story so that's not going to happen.
