kobo clara hd is the only e-reader I've had and it works great for everything. Smaller is better imo unless you have shit eyes and read a lot of pdf books.

Kindle Paperwhite.

Get Kobo because fuck Amazon. Don't let them build a monopoly in the e-reader space.

Not familiar with Kobo but i love Kindle Paperwhite.

seconding this

Had my paperwhite since 2013, still working flawlessly and battery lasts weeks.

I love my Kobo H2O. Kindle Keyboard 3G is a close second.

Boyue has some good offerings

This.

I don't know if it's available everywhere.
But this one is perfect.
Takes all the format, cheap, good quality.

ipad pro 12.9 for pdf files

I have a Kindle Paperwhite and it seems like a solid piece of hardware, but I'm not going to get another one. Want to break away from Amazon as much as possible.

Good move dude, fuck drm and Amazon. I'll be getting a Kobo once I save up for it.

For me, is the Kindle 4.

kobo out of principle. fuck amazons proprietary bullshit

6 inch is plenty for books. You don't want to hold a big and heavy device for hours.

I like regular books, but I can't deny the convenience an e-reader would bring.

Doesn't really seem cheaper than the Kindles/Kobos...

Onyx BOOX 13.3" or Sony digital paper.
Nearly A4 size and display PDFs perfectly, unlike the cheap devices you linked.

> epub
just convert it online my man
> forced ads
what do you mean? i have a kindle 4 and i've never seen any ads. maybe because i keep it in perma airplane mode (why would you need internet anyway)

Get Calibre and spend $20 on the ad-free version.

My phone with fbreader.

imo the most important criteria is
> not emitting its own light
looking at led screens is a terrible eye strain

>A4 size ebook reader
This is Yea Forums, some people here actually want to just read books.

>muh ads
>connecting it to the internet
>buying books

Reading isn't a joke.

That's what I do, but the problem is that because of the aluminum back of the phone, my hands get sweaty after awhile...

you can disable them

Anyone know of a public domain resource like Gutenberg but for eastern literature (English translations)? Specifically Pali Canon.
Ebooks are objectively the cheapest way to read a lot of literature. Nearly everything I want to read is available for free in epub format on Gutenberg or Libgen
Based me too. You can literally get them for under $20 on ebay these. The price of a few used books.
