>that storyboard of Beetlejuice fingering Lydia
apparently adventure time did this a lot- whenever a character had to "Swear" they just wrote actual swearwords in the storyboard and then replaced them
god the swearing in that show was awful tho, whats wrong with the ol 'what the heck?' or 'darn it'? or hell, if they wanted to use made up words, they couldve come up with something that flows just a little better
but adventure time had a very 'whaaacky xD' sense of humor where the writers thought a character going 'whAᴬAᴬAᴬAᴬAᴬT? WHAT THE FLOOPITY BLOOP BLAP!? OᴼOᴼOᴼOᴼOᴼOᴼOH!!! [farts]' was hilarious
don't think i've seen that one but i do have this
It was a product of its time. There's a reason no one cars about adventure time anymore outside of the screencap of Finn and Jake sitting on that log in the rain.
I have this image I saved from Yea Forums in 2016 that was a screenshot of the flash assets of the blonde girl from Mission Hill
just getting this out of the way
Dodged a bullet with that one.
i mean they did use that scene in the pilot (minus ko's line)

this image radiates early-2000s
remember "dicktits"?

i love when voice actors do dumbshit in their characters voices

Wasn’t Mission Hill cel?
Like, even to the last episode?npwzr
Kuki was going to only speak Japanese, and Abby was gooing to be silent altogether. CN felt that the girls not speaking English while the guys speaking English just fine could be seen as sexist, so that didn't come to be.
I was going to say, I don't think they ever used any computers outside a few panning shots here and there
which cartoon mate
also
>any deviation whatsoever in a character that juuust so happens to be a different sex/race/group is bigoted somehow
i believe it, this is exactly what causes minority charas and girls to be bland in so many cartoons

Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play workprint from Richard Gasparian, dated late April 2006, just a month before airing
KND
>cute ditzy girl also has a language barrier
>cool silent type doesnt speak at all, a rarity in any cartoon
>we were denied both of these because someone >>noticed that theyre both girls and made a sexism connotation that wasnt there
It was a different time
Numbah 5 not speaking would have severely happened her character, there was another character in the show who only said the word "cool" and he fucking sucked, having something like that for an MC would have gotten old fast, same for Kuki not speaking english.
I've never watched this show, should he not say "To the extreme!"?
i suppose it depends on how you do it, a nonverbal character can be really fun if allowed to emote and 'speak' in other ways, but if its clear KND cant do it, then they cant do it
its a reference to chris chan
Ian was so fucking based.
Back at the Barnyard was a based Nick show
So it is, that's pretty based.
is he still dating rebecca sugar? i cant imagine how Ian, the literal only good cartoon creator of his circle, the "who cares what people draw? is only cartoon" guy, was married to such a genuinely toxic (and i dont use this word lightly like some kinda zoomzoom) person who cut ties with people for drawing le incorrect things and having wrongthink opinions
>every single cartoon nowadays attempts to have queer and im not going to say the word because i dont wanna invite schizoids characters
>not a single one comes close to the sheer level of based that is my man Otis

bro im such a fan of barely or not at all speaking characters, if done well they tend to be my favorites, particularly ones that are almost or not verbal at all, not even using text or sign language and instead communicating with tone, body language or other forms of expression
theyre so fun and ive written a couple myself
its such a shame when people wont write them, or abandon them, because they 'cant write for them'

Dude they're married or at the very lest engaged, they've been together I wanna say a decade now. Also go outside, you sound brain poisoned.
What about the kiwi guy from Tuca and Bertie season 2?
Chowder was supposed to have a TV movie about going on a treasure hunt to find a legendary lost recipe, while they're chased down by a group of Pie-Rats lead by a rat voiced by Matthew McConaughey, and the movie was gonna end with a big kiss between Chowder and Panini.
Apparently the entire thing was storyboarded start to finish, but since this was around the time Chowder was cancelled, and the creator wasn't satisfied with the end result, he shelved it. The only people who presumably still has access to them is either in the CN archives or Carl Greenblatt himself.
Also he was planning on having a Dragonball Z timeskip and have the show continue from there, which is what the finale was supposed to be.
Since you guys are posting Barnyard stuff I guess I'll post these comic sketches drawn by Chris Duffy for the Nick Magazine I happen to have. File is dated Oct 2008, I'm not sure if this ever got finished and put in the magazine or not.

Those character traits mainly feel like relics from the era when the KND were semi-villainous side characters.
I fucking love this
Rango's production is fascinating to me, reminds me of the old Disney stuff where all the voice actors would be recorded acting out the scenes as guidance for animators. youtube.com
if KND stayed this little side-thing, I could see it working, but for a full-fledged series I imagine it wouldn't be sustainable.
I'm reminded of the origin of Spongebob's voice and I love how Tom Kenny opens with
>Nickelodeon doesn't like it when I tell the story, so, uh, here's the story
youtube.com
Van Partible and Seth MacFarlane came up with characters and concepts for the second season of Johnny Bravo before they left and the show was revamped.
what was the creators original reasoning for Otis' big ol man udders? iirc it was something stupid like either
>he didnt know cows and bulls were the same species
or
>he thought other people didnt know that
also did they ever touch on that after the movie? like in the show or something?
I liked OK K.O.
Post the Rugrats one
user... weve come this far
couldnt we avoid it?
no user, i didnt and will not watch the cartoon for women who drink starbucks and own a singular decorative ceramic pineapple on their desk
Otis is trans, simple as. No other media will ever top Barnyard in representation.
thats fun and all but i know for a fact they had a way dafter reason that they possibly later retconned as 'oh yeah hes a trains actually', cause they made a few jokes here n there abt it, like the one about his sister
originally tho it was just a case of the ol 'someone on the team did a retarded'
here you go

goddamit user
has the rest of the jam ever been documented, or just this page?
GAME OVER
RETURN OF CANON
>Chowder was supposed to have a TV movie
I didn't know of this, Fuck!
I think it was just a "kids won't know and won't care so why bother and also it lets us do gross gags" situation
Only this page, allegedly the rest of it was confiscated and (presumably) destroyed.
This is basically what Donny Osmond's character was like, interesting.
