Overall, a good final battle but nothing compared to Gravity Falls or Regular Show. Hell, Owl House can probably do a way better final battle depending on how they handle Belos jobbing to Luz.

Just finished watching the new episode, and all I can say is Wow! what an extraordinary episode! There was so much action and drama packed into it, and it was all great. Some standout moments include Anne's fight against Andrias, The Plantars taking revenge on the herons that terrorized their family, Marcy's entire time in the core. Andrias realizing the weight of his actions and the reveal of his real form. and Sasha vs Darcy. A lot of great stuff in this one and a very exciting cliffhanger for the finale. Super excited and sad and anxious for the next episode!

Andrias' redemption is infinitely more believable than the Diamonds or any other Steven Universe rogue for one simple reason: Build up. They established that Andrias cared about Marcy as a friend immediately and his doubting the Core has been a thing for 4 episodes at least.

Personally, I thought it was good but not great. Definitely some exciting moments, certain questions answered (still wish some of them weren't saved until the end though), and impressive animation here and there, but there was nothing really mind-blowing as things pretty much went how they were expected to and it never felt like anyone was in any real danger. Also pretty anticlimactic that all they had to do to defeat Darcy was cut the cord, like it was always this obvious weak point they just didn't acknowledge until the very end.

The difference between this and, say, White Diamond, is that Andrias actually received a punishment for his actions, by letting himself get impaled and destroyed by Anne. He didn’t get off scott free, he literally got his body mutilated in an attempt to an hero. He KNEW he was in the wrong. White Diamond got talk no jutsu’d and then was merely given a slap on the wrist.
