Is he seriously going to be texting Sandy and smiling after all that talk with Daisy?!

Attached: unknown.png (1280x222, 107.48K)

What a slut

so... drugs?

so will Lucy alienate everybody and Mike rekindle his friendships now? I doubt Polo will care about Lucy and Daisy will follow him so...

Is every single relationship in this comic toxic?

I wonder why that is

gigachad Mike times

Where's the rest of the page

Sandy and Mike is a can of worms, Abbey choke slammed Paulo cause he thought he was gonna try and use Daisy, & literally, every relationship with Lucy ends up toxic in some way shape, or form.

At Least Abbey had an excuse of learned behavior from an abusive household and his mom's murder by his father, Lucy is just toxic but has a loving family.

So, any bets as to why Taeshi decided to retcon actual sex into this scene? It definitely always read like they just made out and things maybe got heated backstage, but the implication never seemed to be that they actually fucked. (Paulo drunkenly bragging that he touched Lucy's boob when he literally took her virginity instead, Lucy blushing and looking turned on when Paulo reminds her of their "hot night", when here she looks utterly despondent and unphased by any of what just went on)

Why would Taeshi throw such a contextually huge development in as an after-thought?

That puff of air makes me think he's not taking her seriously

Next page: new chapter, Mike is having a good time chatting with Sandy, sees Lucy and Augustus walking ahead of him

I understand not wanting to portray smut in a non-adult webcomic but come the fuck on, this is terrible

>Is that--?
Place your bets, what did he reference?
Only thing that immediately comes to mind based on the context is self harm scars, but I doubt that's what it is.

>reject commitment
>embrace nihilistic hedonism
Stacy still wants him

Did you read the chapter this is referencing? They hear Mike coming

Hearing footsteps coming to the door maybe? Mike did show up immediately after this scene.

>if I don't show it it's not sex

Taeshi doesn't care for this "storyline" you speak of, you should take the last thing she shows you as a retroactive fact

Attached: 1651779823150.png (382x606, 282.37K)

I guess that makes sense.
But back then Paulo wasn't in any hurry, he just casually strolled out all smug about allegedly raw dogging Lucy.
Unless I'm not remembering it correctly, it has been like 30 years.

oh shit here we go again

> self-harm scars
Can't be, arms are almost always bear and she was gonna jump off a building so they wouldn't be fresh ones. The jumping was premeditated too since we see her eyeing the spot prior to jumping.
>contextually huge development in as an after-thought?
Cause it is a retcon that doesn't fit with anything else, why is it here now? Ask her.

Nah, he was definitely hurrying and flustered.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
If I had liked this comic better and didn't keep up with it just because of a more than 6 year habit I'd re-read it.

It's supposed to be freezing outside so it could just be normal breathing.

For the DRAMAAA
Or else it was supposed to be a shocking reveal but instead felt incongruous.

To put it simply? No.

But to elaborate, I do not believe Taeshi has the emotional maturity required to kill her darlings. She wants readers to feel sorry for Lucy but cannot bring herself to write her fursona as truly unlikable. Since Daisy recently derided Lucy behind her back, I fully expect Fatty McFluff to be villainized.

My assumption is that Taeshi's safe space bubble has been thoroughly double-padded by the discord's low expectations. I've noticed they typically fall over themselves to explain away any inconsistencies in the story, so Taeshi is rarely incentivized to put in the basic effort. What can charitably be called her writing has suffered as a result. I also suspect this multiple choice approach to causality has an element of personal appeal; it allows Taeshi to indulge her bad habit of impulsive plot insertions, i.e. Mike faceslamming Paulo into the table. Basically what I am saying is that Taeshi's given herself permission to make shit up as she goes along. She exhibits a strong distaste toward worldbuilding, something I'd taken to be a symptom of embarrassment over her chronic failure to research basic information. Now it's more likely she just hates the inconvenience being tied down by canon and basic cause-effect.

>yet more Sandy shit
>right after his chat with Daisy
Come the fuck on Vero you psychotic jealous bitch, get over it already! Sandy cheated, Mike doesn't feel the happy juices anymore, you established this!

They hear Mike coming despite that not making very much sense

Looking back, what did you guys think of this chapter overall? What was your favorite page? Your takeaway from all of it?

Mine was this one, really felt like something new and exciting was happening. The chapter was decent, but what really matters if the ideas portrayed here will actually be kept up with.

Attached: 33.png (800x1105, 1.4M)

For the sake of drama. Nothing more.

Either he should speed walk ahead or just focus back on his phone but we all know Augustus is going to look back and there will be some silent communication shit between him and Mike.

That or Lucy will look back and start some bullshit.

>but what really matters if the ideas portrayed here will actually be kept up with

Attached: 1634230024977.jpg (400x349, 23.63K)

>but what really matters if the ideas portrayed here will actually be kept up with.

Dude, we know they won't be. The best part of the chapter was the Mike and Daisy stuff but we all know next chapter Taeshi will act like it didn't happen.

>Augustus is going to look back and there will be some silent communication shit between him and Mike
Even that sounds too interesting and consistent with past events. Every new chapter might as well take place in its own separate timeline.

>Your takeaway from all of it?
I have said it several times, Lucy should have never come back, she drags everyone down. It has changed my dislike of Lucy and Paulo to outright hate.

>The chapter was decent, but what really matters if the ideas portrayed here will actually be kept up with.
If you mean Mike will start sneaking around with Daisy, that won't happen, because despite how badly written this comic can be it was glaringly obvious that wasn't the conclusion either characters reached by the end of their conversation. The whole thing about Mike needing to put himself first is just groundwork for him to start pursuing Lucy and building up the strength to tell Sandy to fuck off.

>The whole thing about Mike needing to put himself first is just groundwork for him to start pursuing Lucy and building up the strength to tell Sandy to fuck off.

Yes to telling Sandy to fuck off. A BIG FUCKING NO to pursuing Lucy.

That would be a horrible mistake because not only is she just naturally unstable, but he'd have to deal with Augustus and her brothers at various points to even try it. It really is not worth it.

And very offtopic

Attached: Readtherulesbitch.jpg (668x218, 59.66K)

He's not going to start doing anything until he and Lucy are ok again (which might take five years knowing this comic), right now he's probably not even thinking about it or that he'd even have a chance.

lmao what

Consider it a portal into the mind of the author.
Like what you see? yeah, me neither.

Attached: 689o5e67h34f.jpg (480x360, 20.32K)

Augustus should just rape Mike already

lmao this nerd doesn't know of reaction images.

On a image board.

Where the discussion often happens WITH images.

I even double spaced it so your feeble brain could understand it better.

It's more likely that Daisy will start playing the part of shoulder devil. She clearly enjoyed the idea of Mike becoming emotionally dependent on her in some capacity.

>That or Lucy will look back and start some bullshit.
I suppose it's possible that Lucy will mutter something hurtful within hearing range and Augustus won't be quite so inclined to snark along with her this time. More likely we'll get more blank pages as Mike is gets saaaaaad and hangs back as promised. Assuming Taeshi hasn't forgotten about that little detail as well. I know that's asking a lot of her these days.

My god, its like they're teenagers, and they're all shitty people, and do dumb shit when they're upset

Whoda thunk

Attached: literal idiots.png (489x275, 18.37K)

What a random and amusingly stupid complaint

It's not like Lucy's done anything impulsive, hypocritical, and generally shitty since her return, right?

They're teenagers, they're horny.

Oh no, of course not. Not at all, shes they're little angel selfinsert heroine

Taeshi's really leaning into the sexual trauma thing with Lucy since she got back, and this is probably supposed to be more of that. Her sudden Alejandro PTSD after returning is the earliest example. On page 44, when Paulo is grabbing Lucy by the shoulders, you can see the background change from daytime snow to the starry sky from her Confrontation nightmare, so it seems like she's trying to draw some kind of connection there.

This reveal is definitely pretty poorly integrated though. The encounter isn't really sold very well as a source of trauma.
>Lucy blushing and looking turned on when Paulo reminds her of their "hot night"
would be one example of that. The Alejandro stuff is a little more believable. You could maybe chalk the sudden PTSD up to her repressing the trauma, and she does regularly dwell on the event and seem fucked up about it.

Of course, it could also be meant as just an example of a thing she did because of her mental state and not necessarily a source of trauma in and of itself, but the way the flashback plays out doesn't seem to jive with that. We're supposed to think this is a big deal, but I'm not really sure why when looking at the rest of the comic.

Anybody else getting deja vu? I hope Taeshi's trademark plot pivot comes early this chapter. Also weird how often characters won't notice each other until they're a few feet away, but I guess we already know that the render distance in Roseville is pretty abysmal.

It was a surprisingly engaging chapter, in that there was something to talk about for most of it. The Daisy scene was the highlight for sure. It'll be a real shame when we find out that the only thing Daisy took away from it was that she really wants to fuck Paulo.

Of course it's totally natural whenever Lucy tries to get herself into the nearest dick every time she's upset. No man deserves Lucy's devotion anyway, she is much too good for all of them

And shes oh so valid yelling at Paulo because yeah, they never did help her! never mind that orange cat is right and she wont talk to them. She totally didnt change the subject after having her hypocrisy...wait i mean valid feelings pointed out

lol they were all for paulo earlier until he started calling her out on her bullshit and t hey took it personally.

As expected of the BCB fanbase Taeshi built. She's never going to be able to get them to stop hating Mike either.

>I guess we already know that the render distance in Roseville is pretty abysmal
Fucking hell, Eternal Flame must have burst a vessel in Taeshi's brain because that's right about when basic logic and effort flew out the window.

>its like they're teenagers, and they're all shitty people, and do dumb shit when they're upset
No, this is a stupid argument when the tumblr fans use it and it's stupid here, too. These are fictional cat people and there's no reason to go easy on them. Paulo is a whore and deserves to get shit for trying to guilt Lucy with how he "waited" when he did no such fucking thing. The Rachel thing wasn't even just once, that shit went on for months.

>inb4 Lucyfag discord drone
Lucy is also a whore and overall worse than Paulo. They're both awful, which means you should shit on both of them, even for hurting each other.

Why should Paulo have to keep chaste until Lucy comes back? He kept his heart for Lucy not his dick, shouldn't that be good enough?

The difference is that the fans constantly downplay behavior in their preferred characters by using this excuse while holding the ones they don't like to strict standards of conduct. We're pretty free about shitting on everyone here, it's just annoying to see such inconsistent treatment.

>This reveal is definitely pretty poorly integrated though. The encounter isn't really sold very well as a source of trauma.

Making confrontation as a source of trauma hurts Lucy more than it helps her. It makes her "nobody helps me" mindset even worse because everyone that tried to help her actively got their asses beat. Daisy didn't do anything but she knew she'd get bodied quick.

I meant to imply that, they're all fucking awful but the comments are of course only ragging on one for common bullshit

>Eternal Flame
Was that before chibishit? or after, but right around the time of Lucy's arrival?

>daisy's turn to learn mike is a spineless beta who will never change

Attached: 3277398399299484939.jpg (132x146, 3.73K)

It'd be a fine route to take were the comic to treat Lucy's assumptions and conclusions as fucked up. The attempted rape would indeed be traumatizing, but to watch Lucy sit down and really analyze her shitty unfair blame-happy mindset would be immensely satisfying.

They build up the rabid fanbase themselves with their E-lynching of anyone who dared to criticize any flaws in the comic, or those who disagreed with the ever developing hive mind which were emerging due to said previous action, during the time Lucy was gone.

TL:DR
You reap what you sow, and that means actions have consequences.

It's the one where Mike goes through his final autistic meltdown, which apparently warped space and time around him. First the hallway outside his room distorted, then Lucy was yanked into reality under the tree a la Bioshock Infinite.

This whole fucking comic is just one big eternal time loop in the shape of a mobius strip. None of the characters are ever allowed to change. I'm sure in five chapters max, Paulo will be back to sucking on Lucy's ass while Daisy fawns over him for no conceivable reason.
