Makes me wonder how many stuff gets ruined when the og writers and designers of something get outlived by the product, for example ultimate iron man feels like some artists fot some spare generic robot designs and got hired to be the artist of it, slapped red and yellow at the middle top of it, put some circle light at the chest and called it a day. OG iron man was ENVISIONED by somebody as something NEW, he was not just an attempt to remake an already existing thing

I hated the origin retcon, but I really loved Raimi’s approach to Sandman. His theme and the way Church would stumble in his walks really made him feel like a classic movie monster, something you might outrun but can’t actually beat.
They honestly should’ve just doubled down on him.

Classic Tony was great. He really came off as his own brand of hero, one that faces the type of problems and dilemmas most heroes don’t have. Whenever he screwed up it didn’t feel like him being an asshole or incompetent, it was a mistake while having the weight of everything on his shoulders. Civil War and RDJ ruined his character forever.
