Can't say I've been impressed with this book. 15 issues in and they barely got past retelling the first episode and now they're rushing to a grand finale with the Vok.
This was originally meant to be a 12 issue series, why did the writer meander so much?

I read these when it came out, all alone. But they're pretty standalone/straightforward enough that I don't think I'd have to skim or go back and forth on the wiki to provide notes, hopefully.

Same about him and Saberback. I was excited to meet these folk, but aaa... maybe they're not fully dead, and the Vok are magical? He was likable with his honour stuff, and downright endearing in "put me down :c"

I found my childhood frens including Break (where the FUCK is BWN Dead End), Wolfang, and Polar Claw, but I left Polar Claw in the bin, he was never a favourite. The claw hand is completely loose and had to be held with an elastic band, and I don't think the mouth+lunge gimmick works anymore for the mouth.

A bit but I don't think this is the main problem. Most IDW TF comics sold bad, even those I consider almost perfect in art and storytelling. I think it simply suffers greatly from wrong associations people have with this franchise.
The proper audience for most (not all) of these comics are older teens or adults, especially for series like that of the Wreckers, Mtmte/RiD, IDW2 and such and to a degree even the manga audience that makes up a huge fucking part of the active MtmtE/IDW2 fanbase. The problem is that both audiences sleep on this because those that prefer non-cape stuff for adults assume TF comis were childish while the manga fans assume they were tryhard cool comics with no soul, you know like the bad Netflix "anime" from the US. One-liners, witty humor, no genuine interactions etc.
What these series need is more advertisement. But not sure how to do this. Think a lot of people got into the comics thanks to good fanart made by others, but those that browse and see fanart are always just a tiny minority too.
