Is RWBY kinda too edgy after Volume 3 ?

I've always thought there was potential in RWBYs world. It's neat to an extent and the power system can be neat if they actually paid attention to it rather than used it for asspulls and plot convenience. Also I saw they have new models for dead magnet girl. I forgot her name but she in a lot of hentai.

Because Ironwood gave up on that in favor of bombing cities and shooting civilians he didn't like followed by Salem parking a whale on the town so they might as well do it (and also use it to call Ironwood Hitler on global television since he was at that point).

Really conflicting cause on one side I hate how badly things went but on the other I appreciate they didn't wasted time once shit got real.

I have grown to hate magical/fantasy school settings where the protagnist remain in school despite clearly bad guys roaming around and endangering everyone.

Penny's whole deal is basically them writing themselves on a corner due to Monty's own lore.

It's well known Monty came up with the Maidens without really thinking what their role would actually be, which prompted Miles and Kerry to have to create a series of rules about their powers.

Due to the lack of foresight they didn't realize back then that making it unable to pass Maiden powers without either some painful device or dying would come back to bite them in the ass.

You couldn't rise stakes without the powers ging into jeopardy, but also couldn't have Penny survive and keep her powers because they needed to course correct Cinder into becoming a threat again. Yes, they are ways around them but one clearly can see the biggest issue with RWBY's writing is that they may have planned a beginning and an ending, but they never bothered to solidify the in between from the start, but rather have basically been writing scripts by ear from volume to volume

RWBY is filled with these things where it feels like they wanted to have a plot point happen but didn't know how to get there/didn't have the time to get there.
