recently played the game. Actually prefer the game versions of the characters to the MCU, except Rocket, who was annoying as shit in the game.

Rocket made me drop it for a while but agreed. I was worried Peter would be an mcu style manchild but he really isnt. His arc of actually learning how to command a team is much better than anything PrattLord gets.

His helmet looks closer to the old British constable or "Bobby" style helmet than it does to the old WWI Pickelhaube German helmet or the WWII German helmet.

The game is underrated, one of the few recent AAA releases I've enjoyed. The only bad thing is how dull the combat is
But yeah, the game's version of the characters is a much better take on them than the MCU. I was worried at first because the default design of Star-Lord is obviously MCU-lite, but once you change his outfit it's instantly way better
Plus they actually call him out multiple times in-game for dressing and acting like a manchild, and his whole arc is about growing out of that

Add Humphries Star-Lord at the very end, he managed to write a Star-Lord worse than Bendis, holy shit I HATED how he wrote Star-Lord.

Good game, the tie in book was shit tho.
Too bad it won't ever get a sequel now that Squeenix sold Eidos.

There have been persistent rumors that the villain is the High Evolutionary. The way they are animal people dressed in normal human clothes on a set that looks like earth means it is probable they are going to Counter-Earth.

I loved how they redesigned some of the characters in “Annihilation” to make them more visually relevant. So I picked about four characters and asked Marko to design them. One was Star-Lord, one was Phylla-Vell who had taken the character named Quasar, and he designed another character named Wraith, but it was his design for Star-Lord that we applied to the rest of the Guardians. To me, the mask that Star-Lord wears in the movie looks like it’s based on Marko’s design.

I didn't finish Ewing's run. Got kind of weird and boring. But what I read of his Star-Lord was fine. Kind of a return to the original Annihilation Star-Lord, which is what he always should have been.

But when it's a red leather jacket, like it is for some/most of the films and in the comics, it's just really boring visually

I feel like the material should have been different, I am not too fond of the stuff plastic look but like at least it's not another MCU V outfit.
I like both but I guess the latter is mostly associated with the DnA run and Gunn is a self-proclaimed DnAfag even tho he did his own shit with Guardians.

Anyway that concept art looks badass I guess if they ever do Annihilation they should use that for Star-Lord.
